We visited here for a quick weekday lunch. The cafe itself is lovely and airy with a nice courtyard, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately my first 2 meal choices were unavailable but all the food we ended up having was fresh and nice. However, the service was very slow and the price of the Buddha bowl I ended up having was far too much for what was served.

We had breakfast here after staying in the rooms upstairs. We hadn't planned to, but I'm very happy that we did, because it was really first class. The coffee was perfect, and I had an amazing vegetarian breakfast of sourdough, mushrooms, spinach, halloumi topped off with a poached egg and cherry tomato garnish. My husband had simple scrambled egg on toast but he also found it well done. There is a nice ambience here and although it's a little walk further on from Worcester city centre I would recommend coming to Fred's for breakfast.

My family and I visited Fred’s on Sunday morning , my self husband and two daughters , we were recommended this coffee shop because they serve good breakfast 😊 I’m so glad we tried it , we all agree best breakfast in Worcester 👍. Every item had a good quality taste , came out hot and presentation was good , hot plates which is a must on a cold day . Coffee latte was lovely , the tea is a good quality with netted tea bags 👍. Service was very good snd the chill out music was so nice on a Sunday morning after a hectic Saturday night out 😊. Would definitely recommend and shall be back next week hope😎.

We hadn’t been in here for ages and waylands was full. So we thought we’d give it a go.
No one even acknowledged us for over 10 mins. So we just sat down and hoped for the best…
Eventually someone did come over an apologise and take our order only because my partner assumed we had to go up and order ourselves?
Our order came suspiciously quick, and you could see why!
£8.25 for a salmon and creme cheese bagel…with virtually no cream cheese…
My partner ordered the chorizo hash which looked and tasted shocking. Undercooked potato, super cheap bread, asked for a poached egg and it certainly wasn’t. Carrots were literally raw and dipped in cooking fat?
If you want a bagel…go to steamhouse. If you want chorizo hash…go to waylands
Also got the impression we didn’t fit the clientele 😂 won’t be rushing back.

Olivia, we're so sorry you didn't enjoy your Fred's experience, and for the delayed reply. We've only recently accessed our TripAdvisor listing and were saddened to read your review.
Please accept our apologies for not getting you sooner upon arrival. We encourage all our staff to welcome guests with a warm reception, so we're sorry this didn't happen during your visit. With regards to your order coming out quickly, here at Fred's we endeavour to serve our guests as quickly as possibly - we don't want them going hungry while on our premises. We will feedback to our chef your comments about your partner's meal too, so they can look into this further.
We hope you might visit us again one day and please let us know about the cream, we're always happy to grab some more.

We popped in for a coffee as we believe in supporting local trade. The coffee shop was very nicely decorated. We sat down and looked at the menu to order drinks, only to be told quite abruptly that they were not doing the drinks on the menu but selection of drinks were on the blackboard. Why then have a menu if not following it? Instead of then being told the selection of drinks I had to get up and go over to the blackboard to select my drink. I then asked whilst at the counter if they did any gluten free cakes as it said on the menu, they had gluten free products. The lady behind the counter said NO! so that was that. Not a very good experience need to improve on customer care and selection of cakes, if advertising gluten free then at least supply it to the customers. Sorry wont be visiting this coffee shop again.

I have popped in a few times for coffee, and enjoyed it. However, today I wanted a quick takeaway sarnie for lunch / brunch, and sadly I have been disappointed. Bread is lovely, side salad is nice, but I didn’t get a BLT. They describe it on their menu as an classic bacon, lettuce and tomato’ - personally I wouldn’t have thought it needed an introduction, but what I actually got was gammon ham, loose-leaf spinach leaves and halves of cherry tomatoes - tricky to eat at my desk!! Quite annoyed really, expensive for a sarnie and not what I expected, ordered or what they themselves described.

Recommended by the hosts of the Air B&B we stayed at and so glad we listened! Currently sitting outside in the pretty courtyard in the sunshine eating one of the nicest cooked breakfasts in a very long time. We travel a lot with work staying in some of the best hotels but this breakfast wins hands down on quality, flavour and cooking.
Service is top notch and menu choice is wide with plenty of healthy options.
Definitely will return and definitely recommend.

Went for breakfast, waited over 25 mins for someone to take our food order. I ordered the chorizo hash, it came was very undercooked, the potatoes were hard as were the carrots (who has carrots in a hash!!), the chorizo had been broiled and worst of all the poached egg still had the clear snot like liquid inside it. My guests full English looked and tasted amazing apparently. I've no reason to disbelieve it as it look beautiful and there was nothing left on the plate which was more than could be said about mine. Can't believe they came out of the same kitchen. I did contact the cafe directly as we couldn't get anyone to sort the food but to date absolutely no response. Wouldn't return.

I met a friend here for lunch. It's a freshly appointed cafe - cool greens and greys. It seems popular already with locals. The staff are friendly. The coffee is excellent but I wouldn't recommend the food. The menu looks delicious but when my stuffed baked potato came it was luke warm from the microwave and clearly had been prepared some time earlier. Fresh it was not! My friend's tiny quiche was the same, the pasty was so poor it couldn't be called pastry. I think they really need to freshly prepare their food if they are to thrive in the city. To be fair, my friend then had the cheesecake for dessert which was much more the ticket. Perhaps stick to the cakes and desserts if eating here.

Have been here several times and recently we recommended some friends stay in the rooms which was fine.
Service is usually slow but don't mind that too much, better than being rushed. Order taken about 2:30 and then waitress came back to say that menu wasn't available and could we order from the breakfast one, still ok.
Half way through our lunch I ordered a bottle of Prosseco. It came promptly but it was immediately apparent that it was previously opened and was not full. I queried this with the waitress who said 'it exploded a bit and some got lost' and just smiled.
When I said that I didnt really think that was my problem she asked me what did I want her to do and I replied 'well I would serve this to you as a whole bottle. She asked if I wanted something else and I said yes please, she seemed quite confused by my expectation that when ordering a bottle it is not unreasonable to expect it to be full.
A new bottle arrived and then a cooler a bit later (it was not very cold) . Funnily enough, when I poured the first glass, the liquid level was pretty much where the first bottle's had been.
They sell Prosseco by the glass......
There was an apology, of sorts with the second bottle coming, but hardly fulsome.
It was not mentioned when I paid the bill, nor any token offered, so for the first time I can remember leaving a restaurant, I did not leave a tip.
It was the casual, dismissive attitude that I felt was offensive and this may have been a deliberate effort to defraud the customer.

if you live here or are just visiting Worcester, Freds is your go-to cafe/ restaurant. The food is great ! From the breakfasts [ they stop at one PM], to the lunches and CAKES! Everything is tasty, hot, and arrives in a timely fashion. All the food is organic and sourced from places within the teme valley and Worcestershire. the surroundings are relaxed, the decor is tasteful and toilets spot on and wheelchair accessible. staffare very friendly helpful and attentive. the outdoor area adds a sort of classy seaside feel and is perfect if you like a bottle of wine with your lunch as they have a license to serve alcohol. All in all the only fault is it's closed on monday.

Sat at back of cafe and ignored for quite a while, no acknowledgement, the staff seemed more interesting in talking to each other behind the counter. I had to go up and ask to order. A bnit of a wait, but in fact it was worth it. I had marmite and cheese on sourdough, a large portion for only £5.00. Unfortunately they do not serve tea in pots, only in cups which I find really annoying, not the most attractive way to present tea with a teabag floating in it. The most annoying thing was how loud it was, the music was really up. Consequently the two young ladies who sat in front of me spoke very loudly and I could hear every word of their conversation.
If the staff attended to your customers more quickly and the music was turned down then I would visit again, but sadly until these issues are tackled I will not be returning.
Disappointed, especially as I had visited before and recommended to friends.

Thank you for leaving us some feedback. We're so sorry you didn't enjoy your Fred's experience, and for the delayed reply. We've only recently accessed our TripAdvisor listing and were saddened to read your review.
We can only apologise that you felt as if you were ignored upon arrival, we will take your comments further with our front-of-house team. We're really pleased you enjoyed your food and that the waiting time was worth it, we always try to serve our guests as quickly as possible, but the quality is so important to us here that sometimes it may take a little longer.
We're also sorry that you found the atmosphere itself not what you expected. We like our restaurant to be vibrant and for people to enjoy themselves, and this sometimes means an increase in volume. We will take your comments on board and hope to see you again soon.

Visited Fred's with friends and we all had the pancakes. I never seen such unattractive pancakes in my life, they were clearly made with some unusual ingredients and were cooked on oil which was the overriding taste. The bacon was overcooked and impossible to cut. Just horrid. I won't be going back.

Will not be returning
I booked a table for three and was told at the time of booking that there was a wedding reception inside. I asked if this would be problematic and was told it would be OK to sit outside. When I arrived I was told there was only a limited selection of food all cold and which looked dry and unappetising. I was annoyed as I was meeting friends who were travelling quite a distance and would not want what was on offer. If I had been informed about this at the time of booking I would have gone elsewhere. This is exactly what I did I went to Black & White in Foregate and had a very good brunch. I will not be returning to Fred’s

We ate breakfast here both days of our stay in Worcester. On the first morning I got green tea when I asked for peppermint tea but it wasn't a big deal. There were a few veggie options on the menu and I had a baguette on the first morning and a breakfast bap on the second morning. I enjoyed both breakfasts and my wife enjoyed hers too. I'd eat here again.
