Went here after visiting the sister pub, the fleece Inn. Quaint old Inn with original tiles and Nik knaks dotted around. Well worth a visit when in Worcester.

How very fortunate that a need for a quick lunch during a full on girls shopping trip, was timed right outside the Cardinals Hat. A new venue for all of us, we were rather unsure on entering whether we would find suitable food - three...More

Many moons ago, I knew this establishment as an Austrian pub, serving by the litre. However, a recent visit enabled me to sample the British fare available: a wide range of beers, lagers and ciders, as well as a full complement of proper whiskey. This...More

I think we were unfortunate to find them in the middle of redecoration. The staff were very helpful, from carrying our bags upstairs, to recommending restaurants. Although the King John room has a large modern four poster bed and spacious bathroom, it comes with a...More

On a drizzly Thursday in Worcester, seeking refreshment, the Cardinals Hat was recommended at the oldest pub in town. Plenty of choice of beers and a glass of merlot was served at the right temperature. Lots of Worcester's youngish types occupying most of the seats...More

Stopped here because it said it was the oldest pub in Worcester. Reasonably priced drinks, friendly staff. There was a really strong cider. If you like old world pubs you'll like this place.

Amazingly traditional pub which I believe is Worcester’s oldest! Plenty of drinks to choose from most of which are pricey though which reflects its status as a tourist attraction! Still a must visit if visiting Worcester.

Description
Situated in the ancient heart of the city, the Cardinal's Hat is Worcester's oldest inn and thus has plenty of experience when it comes to pleasing hungry and thirsty visitors over the years. Long-considered a local landmark, this historic watering hole is now a labour of love of local food, drink, live music and traditional pub culture where fine wines, well-kept craft & cask ales and Continental beers are served with pride and satisfaction. With its imposing red brick facade and stunning location in Friar Street, the Cardinal's hat is a handsome example of an English city pub. Three storey's high and oozing with charm this independent free house - which originally hails back to the fourteenth century - is the perfect place to meet family, friends and colleagues. With over 30 years in the pub trade Nigel, Sadie and the team will make sure you feel welcome. In December 2015 the Cardinal's Hat opened the doors to its newly refurbished Georgian City Rooms, the four boutique rooms have been luxuriously finished and offer a stunning place to stay in the city center. Whether passing by for a coffee, settling in for a leisurely platter of the region's finest fare, or stopping to sup a cool draught Wye Valley HPA, the Cardinal's Hat has something for everyone.
