Visited here yesterday Can honestly say I've never come to trip advisor before but this place gave me no other choice as I had to warn people. Its the dirtiest restaurant I've ever sat in. The food was over cooked. The waitresses looked run down...and bored even though it was dead inside, and the manager was no where to be seen. We didn't eat our food on the risk of becoming poorly. Martsons have seriously gone down hill and I think an Environmental Health operation and new management is a MUST. Avoid avoid avoid. If you want cheap and vile food, go weatherspoons it's round the corner. Saves the travel to an overpriced dirty version the Starling Cloud has become.More

Initial reception great when checking into hotel. For evening meal I was left disappointed. I was shown to my table and offered a drink which was a great start. My Shiraz arrived cold as if it had been stored in the fridge which wasn’t a...major problem. When taking my food order, my starter wasn’t available, then my first 2 choices of main course weren’t available. Again, not a major problem. I’m used to food shortages at the moment and staying away 2-3 days a week it’s nice to be forced to choose alternatives sometimes! The biggest disappointment was that no one checked my food was acceptable. No one asked if I wanted another drink that I’d finished and no one came to clear the table and ask if I wanted dessert. After 10-15 minutes of finishing my food and drink I approached the bar, settled the bill and left. A missed opportunity to capitalise on my stay with food and drink purchases. I’ve stayed at Starling Cloud a few times now and not sure if there’s new staff but it wasn’t busy so unsure why service was so poor.More

I booked a table but waitress said just sit anywhere. The place was empty no atmosphere at all only a few drinking in the bar area . The food arrived and it tasted vile the chef has no idea how to cook Table service was...non existent although we sat in the table service area Staff were too busy talking and no interest in customers People waiting at the bar area for drinks . I will never go there for food again it was dissatisfied plus the prices there has gone through the roof Not a nice experience they need a new manager and definitely a new chefMore

Went on a Sunday evening around 7pm with the family, we waited at the door for nearly 10 minutes to be seated . When someone eventually came we were asked if we had booked we said no the was told they would not seat us...as pre booked was priority which would of been fine if the place was full but there were only around 12 people half of them were at the bar . Also the family behind was also told the same. Never again will I go there and I am quite local to the area .More

Came here last weekend and ordered a fish and chips it turned up like this (see photo) Tasted terrible Very cold Thought I’d give it another try this weekend for a Sunday lunch Waited for someone to acknowledge me for 15minutes finally got seated paid...£16 for a pint of pepsi and a terrible Sunday lunch, I should’ve brought my chainsaw to cut it up that’s how tough it was, the portion size was the worst it wouldn’t of filled up a toddlerMore

What a lovely place. The Staff were friendly and very helpful. They are dog friendly with both water and treats for the dog. The menu was varied and clearly marked for food problems. Although we visited for lunch it looked like it could be lively...in the evening. We will definately visit again.More

Roast meal was cold and child roast cold but don't think you should be putting a chicken bone on a child meal. Worse meal I’ve had ever. Then noticed a three rating gone down hill big time. Wont be eating there again! Very expensive for...awful foodMore
