We went in for a drink and something to eat. Told to sit down at a table and wait. Not busy but we waited a time before being served. The toasted sandwiches were awful, the bread was to crisp and the filling was terrible. We...had hot chocolate for drinks and they tasted just like hot water, no flavor, staff were unfriendly, would not recommend visiting.More

We called in here for something to eat and drink, they were not busy but took time giving us a table. They then took time to take our order. Our order arrived and before it had been put down the receipt was thrust at me...and she stood waiting for payment. The toasties we ordered were sloppy and not toasted on both sides the drinks were not hot. There were a lot of Welsh speaking people in at the time and it appeared to us that English were not welcome. Will not be returning any time soonMore

Awful customer service. We waited to be seated for several minutes then we're told to sit down where we wanted. Empty tables weren't cleaned or emptied and we sat for 5.minutes waiting for any service before getting up and walking out. I appreciate things take...longer at the moment but the 3 ladies were serving 4.tables so it's not like they were busy. And to sit customers at dirty tables in the current climate is awful. Never again for us!More

Went in, through to the cafe area, stood by the till, three women, one busy two chatting. They knew we were there, waited a good couple of minutes and not even a signal that they'd be with us soon, they just carried on as if...we weren't there. Walked out, said I won't be coming back and that was it.More

Called into Gerrards for a much needed pot of tea and a teacake. They were quite busy but the girl on the counter service was very friendly. She was pleasant with all the customers and seemed to enjoy her job. My teacake was brought to...my table and it was delicious. I will return to sample their cakes next week.More

After walking around town from shops to shops, what a way to relax is Gerrards tea break... I had cappuccino and my friend had hot chocolate and both of us had brown thick toast break with some butter on them- just perfect...!!!

We decided to call into Gerrards after seeing tables outside. We brought 2 cream cakes and 2 cold drinks totalling around £4.50. As we were about to pay I mentioned that we did not need the cakes wrapping up as we planned to eat them...outside. I was then told if we were sitting outside then we needed to order from the cafe ( a little strange as cafe owned by the same person) we went to pay at the cafe and was told the bill was now £8.20 as theý had a deal on for cake and a drink. This was not really a deal more like a robbery. I understand businesses charge more tò eat in but come on an extra £3.40 on top of already Inflated prices to sit on a wobbly chair for 5 minutes is excessive. We proceeded to buy our drinks and cake (drinks nearly double to sit on the chair) we took our cakes and ate then up the road at cafe Nero which was no problem to them. All in all a poor experience and sadly we would never return. Given 2 stars because I am sure there is worse and the cake was ok.More

Service quite friendly, was busy so tables not cleaned or cleared properly. Steak pie was amazing, would go back just for that. Quite pricey if eating in. Would score lower but for the steak pie.

This establishment is exceptionally clean with very friendly and helpful staff. This is a bakery with a tea room. Wide range of pastries, cakes and savouries. Godd range of hot and cold drinks as well. Fantastic. Will definitely call again.
