A quirky location within Caernarfon castle walls , great atmosphere relaxing and...comfortable and outstanding chef recommended in the Michelin restaurant guide.. A must for visitors to North Wales . It was my birthday one of the best . Thankyou to all the staff.More

We visited Sheeps and Leeks last night for the seven course mid-week tasting menu, with wine pairing. It was FANTASTIC. The staff were very accommodating, and we received a friendly and warm welcome. The service was excellent and the information we were given about the...wine pairing was great - it was lovely to be served by someone who clearly loves what they do and is very knowledgeable. All the courses were superb but our top three were the crown prince squash with red pepper and preserved garlic, the sea bass crab and seaweed and our most memorable, the sirloin of beef with mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. It was great to see so many local produce on the menu and we also had a bottle of local white wine from Gwynfyd Môn Winery which was lovely. The only constructive criticism I would give is that the decor needs a bit of work. It’s not the best looking from the outside and the decor in the basement doesn’t exactly go with the high standard of the food and service. Saying that, it definitely did not affect our culinary experience. We would most definitely be back and would recommend to others. Diolch yn fawr iawn.More

Second visit to this fantastic hidden gem in Caernarfon. The food was amazing and surprising in equal measures, each course of locally sourced food was explained and introduced by the staff. Mabli was attentive and interested in the courses but having not tasted them herself...was at a disadvantage. Definitely a place to return to when their seasonal menu changes.More

Absolutely fantastic meal. We opted for the wine pairing on the night which enhanced the experience. The front of house staff were so attentive and knowledgeable about each course and the accompanying wine. All local produce which is great to see. Not one dish that...I wouldn’t go back for more of. Can’t wait for the change in season / menu to rebook. Thank you for a fabulous night.More

This was definetly an experience! The food was amazing and each plate brought a different outstanding taste. My favourites included the pork snack, the lamb with hollandaise sauce and truffles, the seabass with crab and the mouth watering steak from Plas Ucha, Ysbyty Ifan farm....It’s certainly also outstanding that they use local produce which contributes to this special experience. Would definetly visit again to try a different term menu!More

Sheeps and Leeks is housed in a rather plain unit next door to a boarded up shop and opposite a weatherspoons, not the best impressions when you first arrive, however, inside and down the stairs is a different matter, a modern clean uncluttered dining room....Seven course tasting menu all extremely tasty and good to look at and unlike many tasting menus the dishes were of a reasonable size. The staff were very nice, pleasant and informative. Will certainly go to Sheeps and Leeks again when in Caenarfon.More

The exceptional flavours and preparation of every course is inspired . The entire team complement the chef’s talent (Paul Hearn) with friendly , knowledgeable service and understanding. Wine pairing is available and a wide range per glass is very reasonably priced as are bottles. No...wonder they are award winning . Fantastic experience - not just a meal.More

Actually, I am pretty sure their fire escape leads from the main seating area out to the carpark at the back, a lower level than the front entrance. I would have thought they have an obligation to meet DDA.
