Interesting old building as it was a cinema, normal weatherspoons fare & fast friendly service. Good value for money & seemed busy at lunchtime, tables were being cleared & cleaned, perfedctly fine for a cheap meal & a beer.

Food was good, not great, one tiny piece of lettuce in burger, cocktail was under filled. One of the bar staff by the name of Heather was extremely rude and did not want us to order food. She had extremely poor attitude.

Thank you for you feedback. Unfortunately during you visit we had struggled with staffing levels, due to a number of staff helping with the opening of our new pub in Brecon as well as staff sickness. Since then we have recruited extra staff in preparation...More

Traditional wetherspoons. Two traditional breakfasts and one brunch. Ordered. Delivered to table not long after. Cappucino, caramel latte, unlimited filter coffee and a couple of pepsi's. Breakfast was cheap but good, as you expect whichever Wetherspoons you eat in.

Description
Pub History This Wetherspoon pub is the former Coliseum cinema, which opened in 1913 and screened its last film in the 1990s. The first permanent film show in Abergavenny was around 1912, when a Victorian corrugated iron hall on Park Road was used as the Picture Palace. The following year, the Abergavenny Coliseum Company acquired land in Lion Street, and the Coliseum opened on 3 November 1913. In mid 1989, the cinema's stalls were converted to shops with a cinema above. By 1998, the Coliseum had become a bingo hall, with various shop units, and is now this Wetherspoon pub.
