How is Watson's Bistro rated?

Delighted to see a modern brasserie specialising in seafood right in the centre tre of Conwy. These guys really know how to cook - great homemade tartare with the whitebait, perfectly firm green beans and melt-in-the-mouth garlic potatoes with the monkfish. Service was also excellent,...and prices very reasonable for this level of quality.More

Terrible customer service

Visited Conwy last week and booked a meal here because we came last year and had a couple of decent meals. Received our booking confirmation by text straight away. Job done. Turned up at the appointed time and the restaurant was shut! Tried to contact...them no response. If you have my details to send me a confirmation you could have contacted me to say you were shut (for whatever reason). Walked past it the following day (Thursday) and it was shut again. Don't know what happening but talking to some locals it has changed hands from last year.More

The early bird has flown

There used to be an Early Bird Menu here which was excellent value for three courses but this is now sadly withdrawn. Did not know that when we telephoned and booked a table. Service slightly off and food okay but not memorable. Disappointed.

Great evening meal

Enjoyable night at Watsons. Haven't been for a while, but we'll defintely come back again soon. Good service, and very good food at reasonable prices.

A la carte not what it makes out to be

A la carte restaurant food average not great. Service average. Staff were not as expected didnt like it when we complained. Expensive for what was on offer. We werent impressed. Dont waste your money. We wouldnt return.

Did not get chance to have an experience !!!

Would love to write a review but didn't get the opportunity. Booked a table through Open Table for 7pm on 21st June. Received confirmation by txt and email. Got to the restaurant to find it all closed up. Then received an email from Open Table...saying they were sorry we had cancelled the reservation!!!More

Wished we hadn't gone.

There is nothing wrong with the food. But it's not what the reviews say. But we went based on reviews, I wished we hadn't. It's expensive for what it is, it's not a lovely experience, especially because you can be treated to a good feast...in a much better ambience for a similar price or less. Sorry would never recommend it.More

The meal that never was

On the basis of very good reviews I booked a table for us for 31st May through Open Table. It was subsequently cancelled with no explanation. Checking the website suggested that they were closing for an extended period due to staff issues. We went past...tonight (1st June) to find that they had been open. Not a great way to treat customers.More

Table was infested with little red bugs. Waiter spilt a glass of wine on my brother. Food was good though. I ordered the lamb rump and I would recommend it.

Pleasantly surprised in Conwy.

After a day of visiting castles, we had a dinner at Watson’s Bistro and had a wonderful meal. They have a great selection of wines by the bottle or the glass at what I thought were very reasonable prices. My haddock dinner was cooked perfectly...and was accompanied by a variety of similarly well-cooked vegetables and mashed potatoes. My wife’s prawn and grilled vegetables in a garlic sauce was delicious. The bread and ginger garlic dipping oil was a nice bonus.More

Excellent food, wine and service

Bistro has a warm and cozy atmosphere - comfortable tables well spaced. Relatively small menu (hooray!). Wine list not extensive, but well chosen and good value. Charming, friendly service. Early bird supper very reasonable

Whats Not to Like At Watsons

Find this hidden venue and I don't think you'd be disappointed. The food is very good but the restaurant was very quiet. I recommend the goulash. Although quiet for a Friday night, I'd put that down to the early season, give it a go. Staff...friendly and service good.More
