After a walk with friends and our dogs Ilka and Milly in tow we needed some a good hot cuppa a snack and sit down. Riverbanc is one of the friendliest and dog friendly places in town. The warmth of the cafe hits you as soon as you walk through the door and the lovely staff greet you with smiles and a big fuss for the dogs. Ali was straight onto warming ilkas doggy ice cream up for her, her regular treat after a walk. Today us adults had Welsh Rarebit, always delicious, the poached eggs as orange as the sun and so tasty, the club sandwich, always a favourite with Milly and me. Todays top choice was the homemade mince pies! Alison bakes these to perfection every Christmas, buttery and crumble in the mouth. Have a great Christmas guys and gals and keep serving the best coffee and snacks in town. :-)

Great place! Highly recommend if you are looking for a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in the area. Lovely welcoming space with friendly staff. Lots of tables inside and out, with dogs welcome to sit inside with you. Between us we had a Welsh breakfast and a cheesy pleasey waffle - both delicious - generous in size, tasty ingredients and served quickly.

We called in yesterday while wandering around Llangollen initially just for a cup of tea. The menu looked amazing and the fact there was a gluten free menu was wonderful to me as a Coeliac. It meant that the cafe understands it's not just me being fussy. To have a lovely pot of loose leaf tea was perfect. I chose the gluten freed Squeaky Sandwich which was served with amazing coleslaw and salad, my husband had a club sandwich on ordinary bread, looked and he said tasted amazing. Thank you very much, we will head straight there next time we visit.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my experience at the Riverbanc cafe today. Despite really looking forward to the ramen - when it arrived it was completely tasteless, grey/tough chicken and over-stewed veg. I had had roughly 3 mouthfuls before I could no longer eat anymore. I had planned to mention this when checked on, but we weren't and couldn't get anyone's attention. When the waitress came to collect our plates, I told her that I was really sorry but I couldn't eat the food and explained the issues I had with it. The waitress replied politely with an okay, said don't be sorry and then took our plates away. Sadly, we then heard the waitress shout "she didn't like the ramen" with a bad attitude to the kitchen staff. Priced at over £10 for the meal, I felt that it was a very expensive 3 mouthfuls. I did not receive any apology or attempt to resolve the situation. The staff appeared stare and avoid us on the way out and did not say goodbye until one our group make a point of saying goodbye to them instead. It felt quite awkward. I am giving 2 stars because the smoothie was very nice, but the service was poor. It felt as though there was a lack of management there today.

The variety and quality of the drinks are amazing and the staff are polite and efficient, however I’m personally not a fan of the food. I think it is slightly overpriced for what you get and doesn’t taste the best, I opted for beans and cheese on toast and the beans tasted metallic? I enjoy the atmosphere and layout, and can’t fault the staff or the drinks but food needs sorting out. Also not a fan of the card-only system.

A nice cafe with a lovely decking area overlooking the river. Had a nice lunch of tasty spinach and mushroom quiche and salad. Sadly, the black Americano I had afterwards tasted like dishwater. I took it back to the counter and told the woman behind the counter that it was weak so she said (without a word of apology) that she'd bring me a fresh cup. Unfortunately that wasn't much better although I didn't complain a second time as she had seemed so unconcerned the first time and didn't bother asking me about the second cup. The bad coffee and rather offish attitude of the staff would definitely make me think twice about returning.

Very disappointing. This cafe has a lot going for it, in that it overlooks the river and the outdoor tables are very well situated. The lady who served us took away the dirty plates from the previous customer, which had yet to be removed. However she did not return to wipe the dirty table. We asked for it to be wiped and another young lady came along and gave it a cursory wipe. The waitress returned and explained that the menu was a bit limited at the moment and also that there would be a bit of a delay with the food. We decided that was fair enough and proceeded to order. When it arrived it was rather a pitiful offering! Two of us ordered welsh rarebit with rocket. We were each served one small piece of anaemic- looking toast with a very meagre topping and a minute piece of letters with two small slices of yellow pepper. At £7 25 per head we really felt this was very poor value for money. The tea was ok and the almond slice was mediocre. A small bowl of chips costing almost £3 was another disappointment. Certainly not worth over £25 and this is not a place I would either recommend or return to. Come on Riverbanc-surely you can do better!

I had high expectations for this place after reading the reviews on here. However, we were bitterly disappointed by the food. We sat outside and the views were amazing despite the cold weather. However, the club sandwich left a lot to be desired! The chicken was grey and not very appetising. The bacon was appalling!!! It was thick, cold, rock solid and could have bounced off the floor! I wouldn't have fed it to my dog. It was disgusting! We got up and left. My partners halloumi was equally awful and the halloumi was freezing cold and rock solid.

The staff at this cafe, which is attached to the white water rafting and outdoor activities centre, go above and beyond to be brilliant, professional and generally lovely! We were in the town recently with a school trip (from West Sussex) and I was impressed every step of the way - from Aaron’s ability to magic up cups of tea while we were standing in a wet hotel car park trying to chivvy lots of teenagers on to coaches, to patient and good-humoured outdoor adventure activity leaders. And the fabulous decking area out the back of the cafe is a great place to while away the hours with the delicious caffeinated chai latte. Top marks all round, and thanks for making us so welcome.

Have visited a few times now for lunch and coffee and cake so decided on breakfast. We where welcomed by a pleasant young lady who gave us menus and gave us a choice of where to sit. We opted on decking overlooking the river Our breakfast choice was a full Welsh breakfast cooked to perfection for me loved the bacon just how I like it “ knackered “ My partner opted for the berry waffle which looked delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it with Greek yoghurt The was a problem with his soya milk for his coffee which was remedied without any fuss. Great food lovely staff nice setting we will be back soon Thanks a bunch

What a fabulous B&B! Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfy and we had a really restful stay. We can’t speak highly enough of the breakfasts we had in the lovely cafe downstairs though. My daughter started the day with waffles the size of her head while I tucked into small veggie breakfasts - smashed avocado, halloumi and fantastic poached eggs on sour dough toasts! Delicious. We stayed because we were attending the Urdd Eisteddfod in Denbigh and visiting much loved friends in Llan itself. We shall return asap because we want to! ❤️

We found it on Trip on our return journey from the North to mid Wales. The idea of a lunch sitting overlooking the river appealed. Well the Club sandwich was just amazing and it did not stop there. A lot of effort had gone into the salad accompaniements the coleslaw was crunchy and creamy. The salad was tasty all too often the tomatoes taste of nothing. The dressing on the salad was yum. Altogether just the nicest lunch i have had in a very long time. Thanks you could teach other cafes a thing or too. Oh and the staff were all lovely too. It was a lovely lunch experience.

1 The staff were absolutely fabulous; 2 The room was spacious, light and airy, decor was tasteful and very clean. The white bed linen was crisp and fresh; 3 The bathroom was again tastefully finished, spotlessly clean, contained fresh fluffy towels, soap and conditioner. The suite and shower was modern and of comfortable dimensions; 4 Breakfast served between 08:00 and 10:00 and freshly cooked with a range of options with any requested amendments catered for without any hesitation; 5 Location just off the main square and close to heritage railway, Canal and Plas Newydd and Chirk Castle all excellent visitor attractions; 6 Access via steep stairs may be an issue to some prospective guest with restricted mobility. The Riverbanc will definitely be our first accommodation of choice when we revisit Llangollen.

Had a delicious brunch just before boarding the Heritage train to Carrog, we were in a rush as we were running late, our food was delivered hot, well cooked and promptly. Friendly staff, lovely view across the river. Would highly recommend.

Great hotel and café. We are in Room 8 and the kids loved the bunk bed frame. Everything we needed was in the room. Gorgeous sound and view of the river sent us all to sleep in comfy large bed. Breakfast is served outside on a terrace overlooking the River. Great way to start the day. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Staff were all friendly and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Thank you to all at RiverBanc. We will be back!
