You must go here as it is a little out of the way, yet really nice food with nice attentive, helpful staff. Go along Station Road to get to it, or cross the bridge from the railway station.

Took my son to the Buffet Coach… what a lovely experience! We were greeted by two lovely women. The cakes were amazing! I spoke to the waitress for a while, saying my son was upset as the little train had closed before we arrived and...she VERY KINDLY went to her tip jar and gave his £1.50 to go on Toby , the coin operated train outside. Very generous. My son hadn’t ate much of his cake (which was lovely) and so the woman put it in a take away box for us to take home. With such kindess and goodwill from both members of staff, we will definatley be back! Thank you!!More
Place couldnt make its mind up if was a cafe or a slate shop. In a train. Confusing. One of our party went to use the toilet and due to the abysmal state of it we left with out ordering. Thanks but no thanks.
Great little stop for tea and welsh cakes, staff very polite and friendly, service was quick and easy and the price was very good. would recommend if your looking for a little stop and lite bite to eat.
I visit this cafe most weekends when out on the bike. It’s a great spot, just off the main drag of the town. Great food and service at small prices. Highly recommend this place, you always get a friendly warm Welsh welcome.
Visited 11th May 2021 and was a disgrace. Poor service, more interested in selling slate products when you can eventually get someone’s attention. Cold microwave food. Over priced took forever to arrive. Staff rude more interested in gossiping. The train has obviously had no upkeep...and just now one big billboard for slate sales. On first look wondering if they still sold food as look more of a shop for slate sales. Such a shame this has been let go so badly over lockdown think health and hygiene should pay a visit after leaving the platform and noticing the outside fan from kitchen area and dirty windows.if we had seen this first would never had eaten there. So disappointed as our first visit before lockdown was amazing, warm welcoming and home cook food. And really wanted to use for of walking stops. Will not be returning. And definitely not recommending to our walking groups that visit.More
stopped in Betwys y coed for some shopping and called into the Buffet coach due to covid you cannot sit inside but outside is equally nice in a covered area so if it’s raining outside you are still dry. we used to bring our daughter...here when she was little and loved going into the buffet car. the coffee was hot and really nice we also had tuna baguette and a bowl of chips and i have to say well worth the wait.More
We often pop in while on holiday for a drink here. Great service and friendly staff. Even with the new rules in place due to the current situation the staff were as always brilliant. It’s a really nice place to sit and enjoy a drink...and a snack. Love the coffee here. Will be back again.More
Great service ,warm welcome . Very reasonable price . Warm fresh scones very tasty. You can view the little train from this cafe
We came here for for breakfast and loved the decor inside. Enjoyed our breakfasts. Shame there werent any vegetarian sausages and i somehow managed to keep going to cafes for breakfast that had no glamorgan sausages!
Unusual cafe in an old railway carriage. Service could have been faster but I was not in a hurry. Food was mostly fried grub of place and instant coffee, but considering the very low prices compared to other establishments in the area you really can't...complain!More
Husband was off doing a run, so our 5 year old and myself popped in for some lunch. Staff were lovely and friendly, place was obviously old, but clean. Food was freshly cooked and plenty of it. Kids menu is great value with a drink,...a main meal, and some ice cream afterwards for under £6. Seriously though, try the cheese omelette. Lovely place and I look forward to coming back again. 😊More
It is really sad to see a mark 1 coach in such a state, patched up all over the place externally and literally falling to pieces! Inside most of its original character has been lost too. Food was low end cafe but fine.
Having taken our train loving son to the Conwy Railway miniature rail nextdoor we simply could not miss the opportunity to have lunch on an old train coach. I think we were as excited as our son! We have three children and the staff were...very accommodating and great with the kids. They do a children's snacks menu so they had sandwiches whilst we went for Welshcakes & tea. It was very tasty indeed. Location wise it is in a great position in Betws-y-coed, overlooking the miniature railway and Betws station which itself looks like it's been preserved in an era long since passed. We'll definitely be paying another visit here.More
Lovely quaint experience. Lovely atmosphere. Service very quick, but would imagine in the height of the season may be a bit slower. Thoroughly enjoyable.
