A mixed bag. Nice place. Good vibes. Honourable morales. Good coffee. Bad undercooked chips. Great bacon and hash brown breakfast cob. Weird fish tasting orange juice on the side. Pesto on the breakfast mushrooms! 😫

A little hidden gem found tucked away, fresh special board available to view online from 10am. It was raining and cold so we sat indoors but the outdoor space looked lovely with seating tables and little cabins to sit in. I couldn’t remember all the...ingredients in the trio of salads or the empanadas but they were all delicious and very tasty. Thanks very much 💜💜More
Been waiting for this meal all week - a lovely end to a great week in North Wales. Lovely fresh tasty food, lovely staff, lovely setting. Sit in the garden and watch the birds and squirrels, or inside and enjoy the atmosphere. I had a...veggie special with 3 salads, lots of amazing flavours, pea shoots, beetroot, goats cheese, lime, ginger, all strong but well balanced and I could taste everything. Decaf tea as well. All staff are pleasant and attentive. Yes, it is card only, but as they are not near a bank, why not? Small menu, so they can do what they do very well - would you rather a choice of 100 frozen, bought in items? It is not cheap, but still good value for what you get. Can't wait to return, again, and again. Diolch CabanMore
We used to visit here regularly as a family and since we had not been since before Covid, we decided to go for lunch. The menu was disappointing with not many options. We only ordered 2 bowls of chips, a buttered bap, a cake and...a cup of tea and it came to £19.50!!! Expensive in my eyes. Won’t be going again unfortunately.More
We were looking for a nice food stop but there wasn’t much around. I read reviews stating this place had tasteless food… we decided to give it a go. The food was really good and flavoured. I had the vegan curry with salad. The coffee...is really good also. I didn’t find the staff the friendliest. The cafe has a nice setting and I would return for the food again. Not dog friendly inside but you can sit outside.More
Visited Caban cafe for an energy boost after climbing Yr Wyddfa. The cafe is surprisingly peaceful, set away from the road and sited amongst mature conifers with tables outside on a balcony. I chose stout cake which arrived as a generous portion and was lovely...and moist. Best slice of cake for a while in lovely surroundings.More
Have been lots of times and every time I hope it will be better....not today. It all sounds tasty but it's bland. Bhaji pasty...a dry bhaji wrapped in dry pastry. Filo pastry spinach whirl...dry spinach in dry pastry. Onion and feta quiche...yup tasteless and barely...any feta. Cakes....stout cake... guessing this is made with Stout....should be a moist cake...again dry and tasteless. Coffee is bitter and tepid. The surroundings are lovely and the staff personable but the food is not great sorryMore
Came to try it out on the recommendation of our campsite host. The day’s temperature was building up but I sat up high outside in cool pine scented shade. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful towards someone struggling with a bad hip....Very good coffee and a good selection of cakes/croissants. Fab posters with pithy comments. Spent well over a lazy hour here. Instantly moves into my top ten cafes world wide.More
What a wonderful place for lunch! The food was amazing, service was brilliant, outdoor seating was lovely, staff were so friendly and the vegan and gluten free options were so tasty. Will definitely return when we’re next in the area and would recommend to anyone.
Very limited menu. Over £18 for a beef nachos with side salad (which I have to say wasn't very tasty), and a can of 440ml beer! Was a good size portion however hence 2 stars not one. Wont be going again as turns out theyve...gone cashless. Does this explain the very high prices - for the bank charges?!More
This place certainly is not like other cafes, and that's definitely a good thing! Unlike your usual coffee places, it feels like your swept off to a small foresty corner in Wales and taken in by a warm family in a cosy lodge. I had...a cup of the batch filter which changes every day - I had coffee beans from South America! I also had a selection of homemade cakes which also change daily and come with a salad and house chutney. Overall, the food was slightly average, but I enjoyed the culture of the cafe.More
I rate their coffee however their food is quite poor. Cold flavourless specials... (I understand it's meant to be cold but was just not great food) - fairly pricey too. Atmosphere was nice.
Lovely light lunch here. Visited as a couple with dogs. A little disappointed that dogs weren't allowed inside, seeing as it was raining, but with no other option for lunch we ate outside. There are cabins to sit in but they were all full and...unfortunately the other visitors didnt leave in time. The vegan trio of salads was great, well flavoured and delicious. The chips a good accompaniment, and the range of cakes on offer were good too.More
Absolutely beautiful cafe, lush coffee with some impressive latte art! We had breakfast sandwiches and every bit of them was so flavoursome and perfectly cooked. The pesto mushroom was stunning! We go to loads of places for brunch and this cafe really stands out. Only...complaint is that it's so far from where we live or we would be here all the time :)More
What a really delightful surprise. Seemingly right in the middle of nowhere at the top end of Llyn Padarn (but actually quite near the main road), we came across this lovely place. Superb design from the external decking and shelters to the lovely interior. As...we commented at the time - would do justice to a Swiss Mountain top! All that complimented by lovely staff and excellent food and drinks. Perfect for a break - breakfast, coffee, lunch, from a round-the-lake walk. Almost worth driving from home (Warwick) all the way to visit again! A wonderful change from so many tired and scruffy cafes so often seen in popular spots in the UK.More
