The owner of this Cafe is Stefan and his husband ,and what perfect gentleman they are. My wife (Yvonne) and I visited this place every day of our 3 day stay in Llanberis and we were made very welcome every day. We were able to get a hoodie ( I climbed Snowden) which is very good quality. You can also get a good pint of Snowdon Lager, or if you prefer a cup of hot chocolate it comes with the same quality. A talking point on other reviews is the toilet ,there is only 1 Toilet FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS. Everyone visiting should respect this cafe and its rules. This was a perfect place to wind down after a gruelling walk up and down Snowden. Well done Steffan see you next year

The warmest welcome you could imagine in this quirky hostelry. After a cold and wet walk, it felt like a warm hug walking through the doors, fantastic glowing fires, hot chocolates (and a couple of pints) with jam and cream Welsh cakes - courtesy of the lovely chap who runs this beautiful place, felt like we were sat in his living room. Wonderful hospitality

In my humble opinion this is the best Cafe in Wales run by Steffan who is possibly the nicest man in Wales. He would certainly give Roy Cropper a run for his money with his wicked sense of humour. The location at the foot of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is spectacular and no walk up the mountain is complete without a local beer or a cup of the finest hot chocolate anywhere. Extra cream if you order in Welsh. Steffan also bakes most of the amazing cakes and soups himself and he gave us a free copy of his recipe book, which was much appreciated. He is a wealth of local information including where to eat and the times of the next bus and is always willing to help a passing stranger. We first stumbled on the cafe more than fifteen years ago and now never pass it by without popping in. If you are planning a trip to Snowdonia any time soon check it out meet a local legend and find out why he has so many fans and five star reviews.

Popped in here on the way down from snowdon ! My friend needed to use the loo so asked steffan if he could ! He said if we bought something he could Use it which was fair enough ! As soon as I spoke to order two halves of lager I could tell he didn’t like Scousers ! My friend is from Yorkshire so he was fine ! Steffan started talking in Welsh to his buddy or worker and laughing ! Then said to my friend to keep away from scousers as they will get him into Trouble 🤣🤣 I’ve been coming to wales since I was in primary school I’m now 54 so come on get a grip ! I read some earlier reviews and it seems I’m right he doesn’t like people from Liverpool but he doesn’t mind us spending our money !!!! Won’t be stopping here again .

What a wonderful little stop. The cafe itself serves a great oat milk latte aswell as being licensed for thirsty walkers in the summer. The cafe itself with its open fires, wooden floors and quirky furniture has maintained its original features, that date back to the 1800’s. Stefan and team are great hosts, that will envelop you in the history of the cottage. Recommended.

We popped in after completing a 5 hour walk up and down Snowdon (myself, wife and our 9 and 5 year old boys). We were very damp due to the weather and couldn't have picked a better place to stop to warm up! The kids were given free welsh cakes with their hot chocolates and we had the local Snowdon lager. The owner told us all about the local area even writing best places to go on a map. He recommended somewhere for us to go for dinner as well (1058 bistro / Padran Hotel) which was also great! Can't recommend this place highly enough...not to be missed!

Wet through and cold from going up Snowdonia when it was snowing, Steffan greeted us warmly. Got us in front of the roaring fire and us settled in before taking our order. The hot drinks hit the spot, and the welsh cakes were amazing just what we needed to replenish some energy. Really great atmosphere in there too. With Steffan checking all his guests/customers are ok throughout your visit. Everyone talks to each other. It was great to hear peoples stories and how their climbs went. Real community feel with tlc which makes the place feel like it's giving you the perfect end to your mountain experience. We will deffo be back

The owner, Steffan was absolutely wonderful, hospitable and captivated me with his story telling by his fire place, delicious coffee and the homemade fruit cake!! Thank you Steffan for being so welcoming, funny and for your kindness of hospitality for my hike of the UK next year. See you next year and thanks making me smile so so much with your fantastically wise Welsh energy 💚 Well worth sitting for a while at the Snowdon cafe to enjoy this one off original cafe experience.

After battling 55mph winds and sleet with a windchill of -10 our fabulous group of fundraising girls had the Biggest and most appreciated welcome from truly the best cafe owner in the world - Steffan!!! We were greeted like old friends with bags for our wet clothes, hand/bottom warmers, a warm fire, hot tea and incredible homemade cake, Steffans brilliant recipe book (which we are all going to make the Bara Brith asap!) but best of all his good heart and sense of humour and fascinating stories which we were all very happy to accept!! The only problem was we had to leave!!! We all can’t wait to go again soon. This experience was the icing on the cake and brought smiles and comfort back to us after getting drenched to the skin - you would be foolish to miss this experience and hospitality! Love from The girls from Sheffield 😘

Y gorau yn Eryri! Truly the best welcome you will get in our beautiful eryri. After a great afternoon of walking down from the summit, we were treated to a pint and cake here, and a treat it was. Friendly, welcoming and a great end to our adventure in the hills. Perhaps we arrived when it was a bit quieter, but service was fast, and the gentleman bought over a couple cakes with cream & jam for the kids, and a cake for the birthday boy! Fantastic! Diolch or galon. Gareth ac yr teulu o Llanrwst.

Diolch yn fawr Steffan and his lovely staff ♥️ we had a lovely, warm Welsh welcome to the cosy Pen -y- Ceunant Cafe. The Bara Brith/ Cacen Pwdin was bendigedeg!! Diolch for the cook book, I sent the Bara Brith recipe to my Goddaughter in Bath who spoke about her favourite place in Wales and she is looking forward to making it. I put my maget on my fridge and look forward to returning. It was a pleasure to meet you and your staff and look forward to meeting you again soon x x

We received such an incredibly warm welcome at this lovely tea house. On a hot day, we were welcomed inside by our host so we could luxuriate in the cool shady interior and our collie could stretch out on the cool slate floor. A tray of tea compete with complimentary bara brith appeared moments later and we chatted with the owner as if we were old friends. All in all a wonderful experience. Thank you!!

Popped in here on our way down from snowdon for a sexy lil' hot chocolate and a warm by the fire. Me and my daughter, the one who's a copper 😉, were greeted by the lovely host, Steffan. What a guy. Honestly he's awesome. Absolutely full of well told tales and sarcastic jokes. He told us his age but we barely believed him in all honesty. If he's the age he says he is then he's definitely found a magic potion as he looks amazing! He bought out our hot chocolate, which I need to add, was the best hot chocolate we've ever had, and he also gave us a slice of cake. Completely free! He lit the fire and chatted away like an old friend. It honestly felt like we were visiting a family member. He made us so welcome and spoke like he'd known us all his life. His gorgeous black dog came out for a fuss and a sniff and we ended up spending nearly an hour with a room of complete strangers, laughing and sharing memories. What an ending to a magnificent day. Conquering Snowdon was simply awesome and Steffan was the icing and the cherry on our cake! He also kindly offered us to pop back and use his shower as we mentioned the shower we had in the air bnb was rubbish. This place is a gem and people like Steffan are one in a million 🥰

Stopped here at the end of 24 hours of 3-peaks challenge. The owner Stefan brought out bowls of warm water for our feet straight away and showed us where to get the best breakfast from some very weary travellers. So welcoming and helpful and provided a much needed pint!
