Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is.
Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive.
The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno.
The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike.
This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge.
Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again.
Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.

Stayed in the B&B for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Emma and Menno are terrific hosts, very caring and proactive in making your stay a great one. Breakfast is top notch and it was a perfect spot to base myself for exploring Snowdonia, including a walking trail to the pretty nearby Beddgelert, complete with rain gear kindly borrowed from Ty Mawr. Thanks again!

I have stayed here many times over the last five years or so. This place is home from home with better cooking and cakes.
The owners are helpful, thoughtful and practical. This time I stayed in the en suite room at the front for four nights, I had a packed lunch made up each day (£5.50) extra.
The place is simple, very clean and well priced. Snowdonia on your doorstep, what’s not to love? Thank you Emma and Menno. See you again soon 😁

We stayed at the b&b and the home made food was so delicious, we had for take some away. My other half wants to make a trip back just for the Baerabrith cake! Don’t leave without trying the coconut and lentil soup and the Speculaas. The tearoom has such a beautiful design and is set just at the foot of the mountain - in the most beautiful surroundings. The owners are so accommodating- don’t hesitate! Thoroughly recommend!

We ate here today after coming 2 years ago and loved the food so much we had to come back. Lovely quaint tearoom, owners are very friendly and provide a great service and the food is simply delicious. Best tea room I've been to!

I stopped at this little cafe after completing a climb of Snowdon. It was quite a warm day so I thought I'd try the homemade lemonade. What a taste and just what was needed to quench the thirst.
Also had a coffee and a toasted cheese sandwich, both were excellent and all served by a very welcoming host.
Definitely worth a visit.

Also so much fun. The front door opens and a warm good afternoon sounds. We slept here for 2 nights. Many Dutch guests have them, they told us. Helped with our route and what we could see. Nice though. We felt very welcome. One downside....the car had to be parked along the road. Luckily there was hardly anyone driving at night. So we didn't hear anything while we slept on the road. Breakfast was super tasty.

After lunch at the pub, I fancied a dessert and was delighted to see the tea room open.
I called in and asked for two slices of their ‘Dutch Apple Tart’ to take away.
The owner, who was there with her husband responded, ‘Sorry, we don’t have the capacity to do that!’
A somewhat bizarre reply, there was one other customer and I would have thought that placing two slices of tart into a paper bag or something similar, wouldn’t present too much of a challenge.
I’ve eaten there a few times previously and have always enjoyed the food, despite being relatively small inside and with only two chairs outside, it has a pleasant ambience and thus I wouldn’t downgrade it simply because of this disappointment and I shall definitely return.

I am glad you will be returning - we simply don't have any takeaway boxes etc and if I had put 2 slices of apple pie in a bag it would have collapsed and become a mess!
Thanks for the review
Kind regards

Out cycling through Snowdonia/Eryri with friends and in need of refreshments we happened across Ty Mawr Tea Room and what a great find.
Hospitality was welcome and the food & drinks just first class.
So glad we stopped by, will definitely be seeing you again.

I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience with us . I really wish you had said something at the time so we could have perhaps offered you more milk, or hot water or even an alternative hot drink, or not even charged you if it was undrinkable. Unfortunately 3 days later I can't rectify the problem and end up with a 1 star review! We regularly get compliments about our Dutch coffee but I suppose we can't please everyone. We welcome everyone to our Tearoom, by foot, by motorbike, bicycle etc
Regards
Emma
