We wound up here for an early dinner, after stopping by a nearby pub that had closed for meals but recommended dining at the Castle for good, local fare. We were fortunate to be ahead of peak dining hours, as we were escorted to a...More

What a gem. Recommended by our host, this hotel provided an excellent choice of dishes and they lived up to their reputation. The staff were very professional and the food was excellent. We were fortunate enough to dine here twice. I recommend booking as we...More

Wonderful dining room with beautiful views of the town and Castle grounds. It is elegantly decorated in grandeur calm with crisp white table cloths and sparkling glassware. Sunday lunch is an excellent choice of carvery with a choice of well done or rare roast beef...More

Lovely restaurant, modern and friendly staff. Food was served really quickly and well presented. We had battered haddock which was greasy. Onion rings were raw and chunky chips were also under cooked. Potentially lovely place to come for lunch if the food is prepared properly

Presentation was excellent but food was very average. Staff tried to rush us along to get out of the restaurant which is very annoying.

Far better than expected, to be honest. Good, traditional cooking with flashes of innovation and stylr. I look forward to going back.

We were surprised to find that there really are not any restaurants in Brecon town centre. Pubs, curry houses, chippies and Chinese, yes. Restaurants no. So we were relieved to find the Castle and managed to get a booking - not straightforward on a Friday...More

Dined here on Sunday evening, Seat by the window with views over the Beacons. I had the lamb pie and my partner had duck, both were delicious. I was so full after the pie that I could not manage dessert but my partner had chocolate...More

My Fiance and I visited last month for an evening meal. We were a little disappointed with the incredibly slow service. All of the servers were lovely once you managed to get hold of them but that was a mission in itself. They did seem...More

We have always 3 real ales available. Bass is our house ale and the other 2 keep changing regularly. At the moment we have Butty Bach and London Pride. Thanks for your interest.
