Location and contact

We are an independent Café, Bookshop & Deli located in the little wonky green Tudor building facing the library on Ship Street in Brecon. We serve breakfast from 10am-11.30am and then lunch from 12pm to approx. 2-30pm though this is very flexible. We source as much produce locally as we can and everything is freshly prepared to order. We make our own homemade soups, stews, quiches and other tasty delights and have something to suit everyone's taste and pocket. We always offer soya milk, gluten free bread and cater for as wide a range of tastes and requirements as possible. You can also visit our deli next door which sells a wide selection of Welsh produce, as well as artisan delights from further

I've popped in here a few times now, thinking I'd look at the books...and then quickly becoming distracted by the terrific array of cake - gluten-free included - on offer , alongside good-quality tea and coffee. I have also popped in when it happened to...More

The Hours is situated near Brecon Bridge, near the river. The owner are friendly, the service is decent and the food is nice. The place also has a nice feel to it and is well presented. Most importantly, they are dog friendly.

Great little cafe tucked away at the back of the book shop. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. There were 4 of us and they soon moved 2 tables together. The Welsh cakes were lovely. The coffee cups were small but that's not a bad thing...More

We had coffee here whilst in Brecon. It's a smallish book shop with a coffee shop but it's very nice. Coffee was good - a bit pricey for a mug, but I get they are an independent and need to make a living. Nice friendly...More

We love The Hours. Very tasty food which is locally sourced. We always have a great meal. Today’s ham and chutney sandwich with salad was delicious. I would highly recommend visiting.

Came for a quick breakfast and was so impressed with how gorgeous the whole set up is, the deli is next door then the bookshop is around the cafe, all the books look to be curated. The food was delicious and staff were really friendly.

Welcoming café with its own bookshop and deli next door. Staff are very friendly and willing to help, particularly about the ingredients in each cake. This was very useful due to one of us being wheat intolerant. The range of cakes was mouth watering and...More

Very tasty, but far from enough food. I am not a big eater, but the portions were meagre to say the least. Very expensive for the quantity of food. Went home and had to cook. Very disappointed.
