Such a lovely little place! We visited for my boyfriends birthday based on the good reviews here and we're not disappointed. The menu was authentically Italian and the service was outstanding, they catered to our every need and were warm and welcoming. When I said...I was vegetarian they asked me what sort of food I liked and made me something off menu. It was delicious!More
We found this authentic Italian restaurant after coming to Cardiff for the last 4 years of dropping our son at Uni. The food was different to what you normally see in the common Italians and each dish we ordered was excellant. The staff were so...friendly and made our visit perfect. Our only regret is we did not find this place sooner. We will definately return and I would strongly recommend a visit.More
Very tasty Italian food in a very homesy setting, with very nice personnel.
We had 3 starters and 2 mains (between 2 adults and a child), finished all the plates - it was delicious. Desert was also good, we tried the liquorice/chocolate panacotta and the...chocolate caramel desert.
Small menu, with 6-7 starters and 5-10 mains including the day’s specials, including a variety of pastas, fish, risotto, ossi bucco, goat’s cheese dish etc.
Highly recommend & would definitely go back when in Cardiff.More
Amazing food that came fast and very nice waiters. Free pads and tampons offered in the ladies rooms, shows a level of respect to women in general and I was very impressed, would definitely recommend and come again
Visited for lunch with wife and 2 friends. Waitress was Adriana who once again provided first class service.
The restaurant consistently hits the right notes with a selection of superb dishes.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our luck experience and will return .
We visited restaurant for dinner, we hadn’t booked a table but waiter found a table for us straight away.
Everything was very delicious from starter to dessert.
I strongly recommend restaurant for supper.
I've been going to this amazing place for 16 years - yes, really. When you think chef patrons are getting younger, that's when you know you're getting older............
Antonio Cersosimo is as passionate as ever about the dishes he creates. He was always great at...his job - and every year, he's managed to get better - and better.
For my first visit to Wales [literally, the land of my fathers] for a year and a half, I headed straight to Quay Street. The husband and I had a superb meal, and I could've cried at being in the company of Antonio, the best ever maitre d' Selim Terziu, and co-founder/wine nerd Luca Montuori - he and his brother Angelo, along with Antonio, have taken this place from a brave plan to the best restaurant in Cardiff - or possibly, the universe.
So, buckle up: start with caponata - aubergine compote, top quality goat's cheese, and a truffle honey which is some kind of narcotic. The husband has the same starter each time: sanguinaccio - a black pudding with chilli, and a spicy tomato jam. He doesn't speak whilst he eats it - and he's a Scouser, so let that sink in......................
We'd recommend every main on the menu - if there's ragu, don't miss it [and order a hefty red wine; you'll thank me]. If the kitchen has produced one of their inventive risottos, go for it. There are always specials - let Selim tell you about them; it'll make the decision tougher, but you'll never regret it.
Cheese board at the moment is out of this world. Wine list - Luca has decided on Tacito Rosso, a belter but with lovely peppery undertones.
We went back again 6 days after our lunch, and brought two friends. We envy them - they live only a few miles away. Still, we need only to get two trains and a tube, for the 4hour journey, so................... see you soon, amore mio!!!!!More
