Dishonesty and terrible staff with piss poor management have ruined this once good pub, to be avoided at all costs

Others may disagree, but noisy pubs are a pet peeve of mine. The North Star ALWAYS seems to have either live music or a pub quiz on, and whilst that might be a positive for some, I find it makes the place loud and overbearing. I go to a pub for a drink and a catch up with friends and... More

My friends and I went for an evening meal only to find that all food was 50% .... wow. The food we had was tremendous. I have been there before several times and expected the quality food but getting a huge discount was ace. Going again in 2 days time :-)

Hi Karen The price differences are not from last year, they are both from this year the cheaper being in Feb 2016 and the more expensive from March this year!! I checked the invoices, yes the cheese is a good price but the magnum classics price on March invoice not competitive! Thanks Dan Sent from my iPhone

The last few occasions we have been immensely disappointing. Food quality and choice of wine is not what it was. The card payment facilities often don't work. Such a shame. I've also previously rated.

Such a shame that thi place has gone so far down hill. Having visited North Star on many occasions, I was really disappointed with this particular experience! On a recent visit the place was empty (on a Friday night!). The staff were in plentiful supply but despite this, tables remained uncleared and seemed disinterested in serving us when we entered.... I went here because Wales on line said it was good. Arrived to find a local friendly pub, with dirty table cloth and really poor food. Won't go there again and neither should you. Sorry!

Nice selection of beers - try their pizzas. Lovely. An odd location by and large - situated on a busy arterial route into/from Cardiff city centre.

So bad im lost for words. Ive tasted better Sunday lunches from the frozen department in Iceland and im being serious! shockingly bad! And this pub is rated as being in the top 5 in Cardiff for food? Is this some kind of joke? Will never be going back. The only positive out of the whole experience was that the... More
