Good food, excellently cooked - prompt friendly service, not particularly cheap but not super expensive either. It's just, well, could not get comfortable, tables are set out in what I thought was a crammed fashion. One chap sat at right angles to us on a settee and the whole thing felt really invasive. Bit more eclectic and thoughtful seating could... More

Hey there Thanks for writing in. We were re upholstering our soft furniture when you visited - so we did have a few days of when the layout was slightly different to the norm. Al the furniture is back in and looking as per usual. We used the delightful Patternista (Chris and Suzanne Carpenter) designs on the fabric - a... More

My friend and I were looking for a place to have breakfast, somewhere a bit different and somewhere nutritious and healthy too! I ordered an orange and lemon infused tea which was incredible!!! Looking at the menu i was thinking.. wow all so healthy will i enjoy it? Will it also taste nice? I ordered a healthy omelette and my... More

This place is for you if you are a specialist tea head! Everything you could ever want! The coffee is good too for the non tea drinkers like me! It can get very busy here so pick your times. The window seats are lovely for watching world go by but the tables towards back are a better height to eat... More

I'd booked afternoon tea here with my mother who is coeliac. We'd been planning to have a walk round the nearby park but it was a very rainy afternoon and we arrived over an hour early for our booking. The staff could not have been more accommodating and seated us immediately. The sandwiches were among the tastiest I've ever eaten... More

I sample the teas and bask in the glory of Roath's Victorian surroundings. Superb all round - staff know their teas - I'd recommend the Oolongs - especially the Ruby. But the food is good too - especially the Welsh Rarebit and the cakes. So much better than the phoney atmosphere in chain coffee shops, with bearded cycle couriers exuding... More

I've been to this place several times. I thought I'd go for a coffee and cake treat. As the name suggests this place specialises in tea, which they excel at. I had a cappuccino - the cup was pretty small and it wasn't really hot. Just think the cup needed a blast of warming before serving as wasn't big enough... More

Currently sitting outside Waterloo Gardens Teahouse sipping 'Iron goddess of Mercy' in the fading afternoon sunshine. This is our first visit to Waterloo Gardens and won't be our last. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, the staff are polite and attentive. Not being a connoisseur of tea I was amazed by the huge selection available and the young man who... More

I really enjoyed stopping in here whilst on a day trip to Cardiff. I had a pot of white tea and my partner had a green tea, i was very impressed with the shear scale of options, I have never seen so many! The chairs were very comfortable and it felt like a very peaceful place to rest.

Was playing in waterloo park on a hot summers day when trip advisor told me of this place. Was very pleasantly surprised by the shop. Very modern interior, service was fantastic, coffee moreish and the lemon polenta cake was heavenly. Will return to try the food at a later date.
