We came here as a family of four impromptu and were lucky to secure a table after a drop out. The menu choices of Asian cuisine was fabulous with Thai. Chinese and Japanese dishes. There was plenty for everyone.
We tried a variety of starters and mains including crispy duck pancake, salt and pepper rib, tempura vegetables, Katsu chicken, vernicelli, chicken teriyaki and Malaysian curry.
Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We can see why it receives so many awards! It was also very good value with drinks, starter and main we paid less than £100.
Would highly recommend!

I've been going here for some time now and we have never been disappointed with the service or food. The food is absolutely spot on and we have always been made to feel extremely welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend this place.

Had an incredible meal at Crispy Duck in Cardiff! The crispy duck was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside and paired excellently with pancake and plum sauce. The chef's special sea bass was another highlight, beautifully presented and tasted amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. Highly recommend this place for delicious Pan-Asian cuisine!

Had takeaway from here few weeks ago and was delicious. Had the same order this evening and was really disappointing! Eggplant was undercooked and tasteless and the noodles which were over £9 and supposed to come with vegetables just seemed to have bean sprouts and nothing else.

Unassuming restaurant with exceptionally good food; make sure you make a reservation at the weekend; portions and prices are reasonable, so you can safely order one or even two of the delicious starters, or two main courses. High quality. If you like it spicy, order a little "chilli oil" (not on the menu). Highly recommended.

Spur of the moment visit to the crispy duck for the first time and so glad we did!
Very close to us and can’t believe we haven’t visited before, but will definitely go back.
The owner was friendly and chatty and made us feel welcome, with the smells coming out of the kitchen I know we were in for a treat, the satay starter was served quickly and streaming hot with a lovely peanut sauce, main course was the crispy chilli beef which was probably the best I’ve tried, served with something new, a honey beer sauce with crispy chicken, hot sweet and sour full of flavour.
Too full for dessert but will go back and try some other dishes in the future..
A must try for anyone in the area.

Was our second time visit this restaurant, cause we had lovely night here last time back to March this year, service was excellent by friendly staffs ( a young man & a lovely lady), so we decided to take our friends back again but this time totally got disappointed. We’ve been waiting so long to be seated. The owner doesn’t seem happy to have customer supporting his business. He sits at the bar always on his phone unless we asked for something, don’t be shy, make some noise to get his attention if you need another drink. Food was ok apart from the crispy duck pancake roll, it’s soggy and fairly warm, duck wasn’t crispy at all but it costs £5.6 for only 2 rolls. Avoid it! Wasn’t that busy at the time but there is no service at all, really doubt about it’s rating. Won’t go again.

We spent a few days in Cardiff and visited this restaurant twice in a matter of days! The food was so good we had to pay a return visit.
Everything is cooked fresh to order and brought to the table piping hot. What we particularly liked was the light touch with the sauces. (Some restaurants tend to serve up dishes that are drowning in a glutenous stew). Everything we ordered was well presented and tasted amazing.
The portions were generous, prices reasonable and the service was friendly, swift and efficient. Indeed, Mr Lee is the most charming host - provided you remember to book! We first visited on a Wednesday evening and thinking how bad could it be on a drizzly week night in February, we didn't book and were very lucky to get in.
Highly recommended if you are in the area but do remember to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Highly recommend the crispy duck . From the first time my husband took me there i was hooked . If you havnt been give it a go its lovely . The restaurant is always clean ,tidy and inviting the menu has a really good selection of dishes spoilt for choice . For starters we shared the bbq ribs , satay chicken skewers and my favourite the spring rolls all served on delightful plates and compliments . For mains we had the sweet n sour chicken the honey beer beef which is gorgeous with some chicken n mushroom rice and noodles . The portions are of good size too . They have a nice selection of wine too . The staff are friendly and helpful a small family run restaurant nothing is to much trouble . You even get some celebration chocolates when paying the bill . We visit quite often due to the good service and quality of the food . Let them know it's your birthday they will even give you a cake and a happy birthday song too . A must visit will keep returning

Very popular on a Saturday night especially as it was Chinese New Year's eve when we visited.
I tried Singapore Satay meat skewer with peanut sauce for £4 which I found to be chewy.
This was followed by Malaysian style spiced stir fry with both chopped chicken and beef. This came in a light soy sauce with crushed ginger, garlic, onion and fresh chillies to give it a bit of a kick. The starch was provided by egg fried rice. Absolutely nothing to complain about with this course.
Very clean toilets and friendly but busy staff.

Absolutely fabulous place. Owner and staff were attentive and efficient. Food arrived quickly, piping hot, fresh and not greasy at all. My 8 year old had lessons from the owner on how to use his chopsticks and encouragement to try new things. The duck was delicious...to be honest it all was! Well worth a visit.

We had a takeaway. We picked up at the arranged time and it was ready. That’s the positive. We accept that food suffers a little when not dining in the restaurant, however we were extremely disappointed with what we had. The salt and pepper ribs had way too much fat on them. The Japanese style honey chicken was topped with a batter that was too thick and gooey. The egg fried rice was sticky and tasteless. The spicy eggplant was mushy and not spicy - really quite unpleasant. The prawn crackers were fine. Will not be returning

This restaurant cannot handle busy times. Went in and sat for 20 minutes without anyone serving while the owner just sits at the bar drinking and on his phone. Finally got to order and had to wait another 30 minutes for starters crispy duck pancake roll which was soggy and dry and NOT crispy at all (highly suspected microwaved). Next, got mains egg fried rice, crispy beef, chicken noodles and rendang beef. Rendang beef was cold, told them and got the dish back dry (probably just microwaved and gave it back to us). Rest was ok, nothing to write
home about. All in all not a good experience for the costly prices (5.60£ for microwaved duck rolls).
Definitely do not recommend.

An absolute find: I was looking for somewhere that did gluten free. And this place was amazing. I called before hand an Eric the owner said he can do all but two of the dishes gluten free. So we went - two couples and the food was delicious l, fresh and Eric was the most attentive host. Best Chinese I’ve ever had.
We will definitely be back and can’t wait to revisit.

Plenty of menu choice, friendly service and reasonable prices. We decided to share three starters (salt & pepper spare ribs, chicken gyoza and crispy chicken karagee) and enjoyed them all. The portion sizes were just right for starters. We shared chicken udon noodles to accompany a Malaysian beef three spice stir fry and crispy shredded beef. Again, both dishes were very flavoursome.
Definitely a restaurant that we'll be visiting again in the future.
