How is Chai Social rated?

My favourite restaurant in Cardiff. The staff are super friendly and provide an excellent service. The food is beautiful, with rich flavour using quality ingredients at a fair price. For starters we shared, as always a Pakora Scotch Egg, homemade and absolutely delicious (would love...one each but need to leave room for mains!) . Main course we had the hunters lamb and railway lamb curries with rice and naan. The lamb was melt in your mouth in a delicious rich sauces. Cocktails good too, and with 2 for £10 doesn’t break the bank. Keep up the good work, will be back very soonMore

Friendly and good variety of food

Great menu with a good variety of slightly different Indian inspired dishes. Nice decor and atmosphere, friendly and not too formal. Good value for money

Great review of a booking of 35 people!

Amazing food, organised and friendly. Our party was large, but it was made easy at the restaurant through their organisation. They have a great space at the back for a private booking for up to 40 people. Outstanding.

Tasty food. Super friendly staff.

Great food. Super friendly service. Cocktails really reasonable and looks like a great place to come for a drink. Raj was a great host.

Amazingly tasty food

Amazing food. The coconut chicken curry is incredible. Best coconut curry I've ever had. My husband had the thali which was varied, massive and tasted amazing.

Bottomless brunch

Lovely staff and great vibe! Staff top up drink well too!!!!!! Would recommend fully to any group !!

Great choice for a lunch out!

Me and the family came here for lunch from the express menu, and everyone thought it was delicious. Showed me what an authentic curry was meant to taste like, such rich and deep flavours, incredible. Staff were very kind and friendly, and the place had...great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back for a future birthday and trying the dinner menu. Thanks for a good time :)More

Really friendly staff and great food!

Been here a number of times now and I always feel so welcome. The food is amazing and the whole restaurant has a really fun but authentic vibe to it. Hightly recomend.

Delightful sharing plates

First time visiting and it was fantastic. We opted for sharing plates and each dish tasted amazing. The Pakora Scotch Egg was especially good. Can't wait to go back.

Xmas 2022

What a fabulous evening we had at Chai Social tonight when 7 of us got together for a pre-Christmas meal!! Service was exceptional and food was fantastic/ thank you so much for making it such a great evening! We will be back!!

Great food. Not your usual curry house.

Had a lovely evening with good food and 80s and 90s music in the background. What’s not to like? The staff were universally great and explained the menu well. The small plates were very tasty. The dirty fries were yum. The main courses are cooked...and served in a clay pot. All very tasty with thin and delicious naan bread. Will happily go back and recommend to anyone.More

Good Restaurant

Starters were mediocre. However, the clay pot curries we something special. Myself and my partner had different curries and both we bursting with flavour.

Quality Indian Restaurant open from 11am.

I visited Chai Social this afternoon for the first time and was impressed by the lovely food, the excellent value for money and the nice Staff. I decided to go for Popodums to start followed by the excellent Express Lunch Channa Masala which comes with...rice. I also ordered a Cobra which happily is on draught. The Popodums came with nice dips. The Channa Masala arrived piping hot with fluffy boiled rice. The only slight hiccup was my main arriving while I was still eating my starter. I look forward to returning as the menu is vast. If you like Chai Street in the City Centre you'll also love Chai Social.More

Amazing food and lovely service!

Had a very tasty meal here with my fiancé and service was great, with no coming to ask us about our food mid bite as most places do, and I got to take home the lovely little pot that my icecream came in! Also was...pleased to hear that the owners are the same as Mint and Mustard that was here before, definitely plan to return!More

A delicious and innovative menu and lovely friendly staff.

Was gutted when we heard that the Mint and Mustard was closing but we love the new reincarnation from the same team, possibly even more! The food is a delicious and surprising mix of flavours and influences. The okra fries are amazing and the meat...eaters in our group said that the pakora scotch eggs are delicious. The food is reasonably priced, the service is excellent and really friendly and we also liked the decor. Can't wait to try their breakfast.More
