Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A little off the beaten track, but within walking distance if you are in the vicinity of the Roath Park Lake. A nice little coffee shop where the staff are very friendly and the service was good. Very clean, with comfortable seating and low background...music. Hot beverages and tasty meals. We would recommend it to everyone and would visit again when next in the area.More

My husband, 4 month old daughter and I stumbled across this place today. After dropping the 2 year old off at nursery and some time to spare before an appointment we googled somewhere new to go for breakfast.... I love the place. Parking outside which...a bonus! lovely and quiet, gorgeous food, good prices ... we will definitely be back!More

The setting of this coffee shop is rather unpreposessing, surrounded as it is by unattractive housing, but inside can be found service and snacks to rival the best. Some imaginative sandwich fillings were on offer; fresh and tasty. The panini might have been bigger but...size and quality do not necessarily go hand in hand. A very acceptable flat white coffee completed an enjoyable lunch.More

I have had lunch here several times and evening meal recently. All good value for money, friendly staff and willingness to accommodate allergies where possible. Just right for a casual snack, although they can cater for small parties. Recommended

I recently had lunch at this coffee shop after visiting Roath Park lake with family. The lunch time menu was standard serving paninis and other lunch time snacks! I ordered a latte and tuna and cheese Panini (with no side) which came to just short...of £7.50. A little pricey....especially if you're taking kids.....as the portion sizes really aren't generous! Won't be going back again in a hurry!More

We just love their coffee. Our regular stopping off point after shopping! We are looking at their lunch menu and trying to decide what to have! Choices, choices, choices!

Kate will always go off menu for me as a non meat eater . She does the best Welsh Rarebit ever. The cafe is kept spotlessly clean . Also very relaxing as Kate has the Daily Papers to while away your time while having a...meal or coffee. Also has Wi Fi .More

We visited this coffee shop in March, on the day of the 10K in Cardiff. It was grey and rainy and we needed cheering up before standing in the rain on Lake Road East to wait for our friends to race past. We decided to...have a drink before choosing lunch. We had an Americano and a Hot Chocolate. There was no welcome greeting, the drinks were served in a sullen manner and were more expensive than the more desirable Wellfield Road. The table had not been cleaned after the previous occupants and the whole place lacked ambience. Needless to say, we couldn't face lunch!More

We’d never been here before so we thought we’d try Ten Maryport for tea, coffee, and something else. Truthfully, we were a bit disappointed with the brunch items on the menu when we saw that whilst you could have Eggs Florentine, they didn’t also offer...Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, even though both bacon and smoked salmon are listed on the menu for other dishes. So we chose teacakes for a lighter elevenses break. Bad move. We really enjoyed our tea and coffee and were interested to see that, according to the sign, these came from a little privately owned tea and coffee merchant based in Minehead named DJ Miles. Full marks for that. The teacakes could have been good because you could taste fruit and spice. But they obviously came straight from the freezer (listen for the tell-tale ding) and they either don’t freeze well or had been frozen too long. The middles were cold and damp but the outside edges were dry like rock. Come here for tea and coffee. We’ll happily try something else to eat. But we wouldn’t recommend the teacakes to anyone.More

I ordered a children egg and soldiers for my 1 year old, it came to the table and the soldiers were just bread and butter and the egg was very under cooked. I spoke to the woman who worked there and showed her the egg...which was so undercooked it was like a watery substance she said it was fine she cooked it for 5 minutes. Never offered to re cook or even refund the over priced childrens breakfast of £3.95.More

Service is slow, customer service is terrible and overpriced basic food. Went for a nice lunch by the lake and I was hugely let down.
