We went on a Monday lunchtime. I expect the experience may be different in the evening. The chicken tikka starter was really attractive, but unexpectedly spicy. The rogan josh was meat in a bowl of gravy. When we queried the lack of tomato we were...More

Would not recommend this place unless you enjoy parting with your hard earned cash. 4 small pieces of lamb in a ( has to be said ) tasty sauce with pathetic naan bread portions. A bottle of ale was £6. Ohh.....and a 10% service charge....More

Saturday night a little later on but not that late we went for a quiet meal. Quite enjoyable quality curry with bottled beer. Hit the spot.

We had a nice curry here after a day out in Cardiff. Nice curries overall very good lamb dishes. I would not recommend the dal though and it was a bit expensive for what we got.

Wonderful food, wonderful staff. Well worth paying a little extra to enjoy this fantastic restaurant. I can't quite understand why this place isn't busier!

I arrived after 9.30pm one evening mid week, and there were only a few people there. I had planned to visit one of Cardiff's fine dining Indian restaurants, but as it was late, I came here as it was close to my hotel. I must...More

I have eaten at this restaurant many times in the last few years and it used to be excellent. Recently however I have dined twice here and had to wait a long time for average and luke warm food. The curries these days are non...More

Visited after the rugby on New Years Day and got the usual warm welcome. Quiet at first but quickly filled up; the word is out about how good the food is. Not your boring run of the mill menu but excitingly different dishes. Becoming a...More

Description
Spice Quarter is on the first floor of the popular restaurant hub, the Old Brewery Quarter in Cardiff city centre. Unlike the capital’s tens of ‘cheap eat’ restaurants, Spice Quarter places itself in the a la carte fine dining set. They've got the contemporary look right. And the food’s genuinely excellent. Visible hard at work in the glass fronted kitchen, each of the five chefs, recruited from luxury hotels in Delhi and Bombay, specialises in cooking from their regional home. So from the street-side eateries of Punjab comes a smooth butter chicken, while a Malabari fish curry could have come direct from the South Indian coast.
