In spite of ordering a 2-course meal each & a £3 bottle of fizzy water, the "manager" and waitress flatly refused to serve a glass of tap water, citing UK Licencing laws as they "don't serve alcohol" in Saray. With no suitable alternative drinks available,...tap water was my only option to have with my meal Since we were spending £50 and were offered "free" dips, bread, Turkish tea and baklava as extras, this was disappointing and very poor customer service for a very reasonable, zero-cost to Saray customer preference. They eventually brought tap water after I insisted loudly, with a very sour attitude. Why would we bother to go back when there are so many equally good restaurants in Cardiff ? Pointless attitude as a glass of water would have cost them £0.01, we had no problem with paying for another bottle of water, we just don't want to be pay for another plastic bottle to end up in landfill !More

Excellent experience in Saray. Food was cracking as always. Good sized portions All cooked fresh. Staff are very attentive. Toilets and restaurant area are very clean. The meat was tender and very tasty. Prices are very good value. Always our go to for a Turkish...in Cardiff. Keep up the good work guysMore

When you’re down a street famous for great food and you’re stuck for where to eat, you stumble across two decent looking establishments - which one do you choose? Well, we went for the one that near full to bursting as opposed to the one...where the staff were sat down waiting for customers The Saray is a lot bigger inside than you think - with potential seating for 140 However, with the amount of staff and their high level of efficiency, you’re not made to wait for long…doesn’t matter how busy they are The decor is modern, whilst trying to keep that authentic Turkish look The staff, as previously mentioned, are efficient and friendly The food was plentiful and very tasty We’re likely to return to try out the rest of their menu And the complimentary Turkish tea and baclava went down a treatMore

Wasn’t what I expected they were too busy to attend to you, you constantly have to beg them to come and serve you. The food wasn’t that beautiful compared to others of their competitors. The menu wasn’t very clear and everything was difficult. At one...point I had to stand and go and search for the waiter. The food was dry and plain tasting. Overcooked and disgusting. I would never come back there again.More

First impressions mean everything. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a young lady, which we took to be the restaurant manageress, who instructed a waitress to look after us. Plus, this Turkish restaurant was full of Turkish people which is also...a good sign. Throughout the meal, the staff were on the ball and very attentive. An excellent service. We had the platter share for two consisting of lamb and chicken Shish, lamb and chicken kofte, lamb ribs, lamb and chicken shawarma’s. Served on a bed of rice and chips with a rather delicious salad, bread and dips. I must say the food was excellent, tasty and well presented. Meat was cooked to perfection and not dry in any way. The only moan I have is as soon as you get 3/4 way through the platter you find the food has gone cold. Perhaps a hot plate would help? It is only a minor observation and did not spoil anything. Well worth the visit and well recommended.More

Great selection on the menu difficult to choose. We were served quickly and with excellent food The bread was very tasty the Turkish pizzas were amazing I fault I was in holiday in Turkey the service was really good.

Earlier in the week, I booked a table for 18 people for a Saturday evening which was agreed. As you can appreciate, it is very difficult to get 18 people’s availability to agree on the same restaurant at a convenient time. Received a call from...the restaurant (the day before) saying I must cancel the booking as they do not accept groups of more than 12 people. I would not have had a issue with their policy had they told me this information initially when I made the booking and not waited until the day before!!! Now I am in a position where 18 of us have no plans and you can only imagine how difficult it would be to book something so last minute for a Saturday evening. Absolutely shocking service and very disappointed. I admit the food is good quality in Saray’s, however this means nothing when the service is this poor! Hugely let down and will never return again.More
