Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This quaint unassuming little restaurant holds its own... A very warm welcome as we entered to the smell of wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen, where the food was cooked to order. A complimentary meat and cheese plate was delivered to the table whilst we...waited for our food... The tapas which was flavourful and authentic, had good sized portions. We opted for the 3 for £18 which we paired with the fruity white Sangria. A lovely unrushed night and although we don't live in Newport we will definitely be returning customers.More

Small, freindly and helpful. A touch of rare quality in Newport. The food was good, tasty and plentiful, I will go back when I visit again.

I gave the title of my review to the fact that i have been here twice and another perfect night .Firstly lets forget the food for a minute. Came here for my wife`s birthday and some good news for myself. You are greeted by Fay...who could charm the birds out of the trees, lovely lady who is sooo good at her job. Her husband Antonio is the only person in the kitchen, how he gets all the food out on his own baffles me, i reckon there must be 10 Antonio`s cooking. We had a complimentary plate of cheese, meat and grapes with bread to start followed by garlic bread with a dip, we then chose 6 tapas plates which were all different but spot on for flavour, we washed it down with a good bottle of white wine, Antonio pops out of the kitchen to make sure everyone is happy with the food, here is a guy who cares about what he sends out, The 2 of them make a great team serving great food. Till the next time.More

Came here again for my mums 81st birthday and both mum and dad fully enjoyed their evening. The 5 of us each had 3 tapas each which we mixed and matched and shared to try it all. Portions are generous and very tasty! Accompanied by...a lovely bottle of Cepa Lebrel red. We sat out in the covered patio which is a nice addition- will definitely be backMore

This small venue is a shining beacon of quality in an area crying out for it. The service is friendly and professional, the food is tasty, nicely cooked and varied. The menu is short making decisions simple, the prices are very competitive. Four of us...ate at 8.30 until ten and were treated as freinds rather than customers. I wopuld have liked a coffe at the end but there are no hot beverages. I will return every time I am in Newport.More

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent hospitality. One walking down a not-so-touristy Newport would easily have walked past, let alone think of what one could indulge in in this little restaurant. Even after 2 months, I still think back and regret not having more. The food...was delicious, made even better by Fay and Antons' very friendly hospitality. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet night out with the boys. The only negative about this place is that it is too far from New Zealand. To whoever is reading this, I cannot recommend this place more. If you're not travelling through Newport, you should come just for New Ole at the very least. To Fay and Anton, thank you once more for the lovely food and chat. I look forward to dining at New Ole again.More

Said I would be back after Nov 23 visit and it still receives top billing in my view. Fay remembered us and we were greeted with a warm smile as f long lost family. Tried different dishes this time. Spinach & goat cheese croquettes..wow. Seafood...Paella delicious. Churros with hot Chocolate sauce..a king’s platter. Anton is a true authentic Spanish chef period.More

Wow, what an experience, cosy, warm, welcoming. Fay made us feel like family friends. Proper Spanis food, extremely tasty. Had garlic bread with alioli, and mussels to start. 3 tapas for £18 - delicious and king prawns that were cooked to perfection. Proper northern Spanish...lager washed it down perfectly. Will definitely be back when next in town. Try it you’ll love it.More

I have been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while due to the good reviews. Went there this evening but very disappointed. Food was not freshly cooked as I was expecting. Calamari looked like it was from a supermarket and very chewy. Paella...was tasteless, dry and not warm - seemed like it had been poorly reheated and the prawns were totally inedible. Tortilla was not warm and also seemed like it had been reheated. Chef denied this but he was the only person waiting tables and cooking food. I've eaten in enough restaurants to recognise when the food is microwaved and served too quickly to be freshly cooked. I would say avoid. Cannot believe how this place has near universal 5 star reviews. We did get a reduction to our bill but spoilt our anniversary meal.More
