Sick and tired of being treated like cattle on Valentine's Day so trying something else. After the last visit here we had to return and as they were open specially for valentines and only limited tables and sitting we decided to book. What a great night, quiet music, romantic subtle decoration, great service and a fantastic meal. The steak was... More

Excellent customer service and meal. Can't believe we hadn't found it before. Would strongly recommend but I don't want too many people to discover this little gem. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

Went for a meal here last weekend. The restaurant is a converted barn on a working farm. It's cosy and inviting. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. They have a range of exotic meats too - my husband tried the crocodile and ostrich. Staff were attentive but discreet. Nothing was too much trouble. This was our first visit, but... More

We've been meaning to try this place for a while. Had recommendations from a number of places but just never got around to going. Yes it is a bit out of the way. Yes the menu is straight forward. But we had a great time. Everyone loved their meals and the price was good. It was nice to find somewhere... More

This place is exquisite. Off the beaten track, you feel like you're invited into someone's home. Service was fantastic & the exotic meats were explained and sold well. Portions were huge which meant we didn't have room for pudding so we will be back. Thank you for a lovely night.

Only been here once before and had a fabulous meal with friends last time. Set away from houses with fantastic views we had to return. This time just my wife and I, we had salmon to start followed by a veal sirloin steak (not escalope) with veg and wedges. Dessert we plumped for plum crumble with custard with a coffee... More

Invited by friends to join them. Restaurant in lovely setting with interesting menu selection of meat eg crocodile steak. However also lovely choice of more traditional menu. Large portions, excellent veg, good wine list. We visited in the evening.

Amazing place, part of a working farm, not an extensive menu, but all well cooked, and good sized portions with freshly cooked vegetables, the service was first class, attentive without being intrusive. Our grandson has a list of food allergies and the staff went out of their way to cater for him, even down to producing a fresh fruit salad especially... More

Or more to the point....look up The Farmers Daughter, situated in the countryside between Newport and Cardiff. A hidden gem if there ever was one. A quaint barn , presumably part of the farm originally, very quirky. Not an extensive menu but all the better for it, though the exotic range is great What we had was good wholesome and... More
