Unfortunately we had a terrible experience here … mainly down to the manager/guy who seemed to be in charge. We rang ahead wanting to checkin early which we were told we couldn’t do which was fine but when we arrived we were told we didn’t...have a room! Along with apparently 5 other couples/parties and was told booking.com had over booked them but that they were going to try and put a double bed in one of the single rooms that where available, I’m not a fussy person usually but the manner we were spoken to and dealt with was awful, zero customer service, obviously we were annoyed as we had paid for a superior suit and we were going to be put in a single room which we explained to the guy and all we had back was attitude saying it’s not my fault it’s booking.com …. Either way I’d have been much happier if a simple apology was made and we were treated with respect but we weren’t and it was as if he wanted us to be greatful, nothing at all was offered to us as an apology, just given the key at 3.45, 45 minutes after standard check in time. Once in the room (room 1) it was very basic, no tea bags, one cup which was dirty, we did ask for another which we got but was also dirty, just not up to standard really especially as we should have had a superior room. Just felt totally let down by staff, weather the booking problem was their doing or booking.coms it’s their business they should have done something to make up for what we hadn’t had which was what we paid for but it seemed to be run very sluggishly by someone with no customer service experience. Go elsewhere if you want to be hosted/treated professionally.More

Amazing gem of a place, ate in the brasserie its lovely. Fresh produce done very well by their chef who was at Custom House I was told.

Family room very spacious,lovely and clean very warm,excellent bathroom and shower good size spacious beds very firm,excellent tea coffee and water facilities in room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food and service excellent plenty of space to sit and eat.friendly atmosphere. Car park facility’s were...very good and safe to leave your car. Lift to upper rooms.overall an excellent stay will definitely return to this hotel.More

Bit of a pity really. I was served quickly and the bartender was nice. Unfortunately it took quite a long time to get my food and when it arrived it was cold. This is not the first time this has happened either. It wont stop...me coming as the drinks are a good price and the food is also, it just seems that they dont have enough staff to do the bar and bring the food out. I am sure it was the correct temperature initially but it had just sat for a while as no one was available to bring it out.More

Popped in for a lunchtime meal. We both opted for the All-day Brunch. Amount on the plate was just right b ut all of it was lukewarm. If it had been hot it would have been spot on.

First time coming to this pub, it was very full with drinkers mostly but we found a table in the corner for the four of us. Tables were dirty. Unfortunately they didn’t have any bubble gin cocktail pitchers so we had another one instead. I...had the cod and chips which was really nice, my partner had the pepperoni pizza which only had 9 slices of pepperoni on instead of 14 and looked a bit dry. The other two meals were okay and all the condiments were empty or nearly empty. I don’t think we would go backMore

Popped in for a quick breakfast and coffee before continuing on journey home. Food was quick and warm, staff very pleasent, free coffee refills a bonus. The usual children running around screaming which can be slightly frustrating, but not a huge issue. Overall very satisfied.

Visited with our grand daughter as we were in town 2 large breakfasts and pancakes and drinks served very quickly. Good value and free top ups on coffee and tea.

A nice meal in pleasant surroundings and friendly staff, I also stayed in the hotel which was very pleasant as well.

Excellent fish Friday but the garlic bread was the worst Iv had it was cold and tasteless told the staff and got a sorry not the answer I was looking for but the large was nice and cold
