Visited with family for a breakfast. Staff are great, accommodating and friendly. Veggie breakfast is good with excellent veggie sausages and black pudding. Non-veggie breakfast was also enjoyed. Will come back again. And again.

Average breakfast at best , poor customer service , got told I was sad and get a life for taking picture of my food . Not very hygienic having a dog roaming round when serving food . Won't be going back

I'd arranged to meet up with a friend in Casnewydd. She lives locally, i was breaking my train journey from North Wales to Cornwall. We'd vaguely arranged to meet at the coffee shop just by the train station. Sadly that's now become a Costa. Both...of us prefer to support local businesses wherever possible. I asked a policeman for his recommendation. He suggested The Pot Café. Lovely, thoughtful and charming staff. Real tea and coffee. My mate's breakfast was lush. A gem of a café. We'll both be back. As, presumably will the policeman.More

Decided to pop in for lunch on a whim, and pleasantly surprised with the vegan options available, including dairy-free milk alternatives. Staff were lovely and helpful with my allergy too.

On cold winters day I popped in for a light lunch and a brew. I ordered a Cheese Pie ( cheese and potato pie) and a mug of tea. It's was presented well and was made to order. Served piping hot that was well received...in this winters day. Tasted really nice, very cheesy and the mash was not lumpy at all. The mug of tea was lovely freshly made and not the typical type of 'aged bags' in the pot since earlier Very nice and will be back It's a busy little.place and well certainly popular but hidden - one of those secret places to eat!More

What has happened to this delightful cafe? My partner and I have used it regularly having some awesome breakfasts. There used to be just two ladies, friendly and quick with a decent meal. The time before this was questionable. This time was horrific. My dear...old gran could have done a better job and she’s been dead ten years, bless her. The wait to be served was so long they may as well have given us Christmas menus. We were told there was no veggie sausages so we said we’d have something else. A small and large vegan breakfast came out the same size except one extra sausage. My ‘breakfast ‘ which looked like it was served of a ornamental place was terrible. The sausages they said they didn’t have were raw in the middle, hash browns and one piece of seitan burnt to a crisp, the other piece sloppy and the mushrooms tasted like they were cooked in butter. I didn’t dare try the toast. God knows how they would manage to mess that up. On a positive they managed to cook a tinned tomato. Well done you!!! One for that exquisite tomato and two for putting me in a bad mood with that poor excuse of a breakfast and letting down the name of a fantastic little cafe.More

A Newport institution. Great value and very friendly. Situated in the High Street arcade in Newport. I had an excellent lunch of chicken and ham pie, potatoes and veg. Extremely reasonable. They also do great breakfasts, which my friend had.

I have used this cafe a few times now whilst visiting my partner. It's great going somewhere you know you'll get a large vegan breakfast. Always hot. Staff are always friendly and remember a face. Under fifteen found for a breakfast, a sandwich and hot...drinks. Never have I seen this café empty.More

I have used this cafe over at least 32 years, the establishment has been trading in the same place for over 40 years with the same proprietors. The meals are plain and simple, but hearty, you get a good portion, served with a real smile...in what I consider a reason length of time.More
