First, may I say that is unfortunate that reviewers don't review the important things. In this case - IT'S A PUB you expect it to be noisy, that's part of the experience! We visited unexpectedly when the pub was quite full but we were shown to a table without delay. The menu, including the Specials Board, was varied and interesting... More

we arrived at the restaurant and it was lovely and warm with both of the fires on, we were sent to our table and ordered our food and other customers started to arrive. We were sat by the door so when people came in and out it was quite chilly causing a draft, customers that were seated by the fires... More

We went for Saturday lunch (booking recommended). They have a specials menu - 2 courses for £10.95 and 3 for £12.95 which offers great value for money. Some dishes on the main menu are pricey. Good quality food and well presented. One of the party was vegan and the chef was very accommodating in adjusting some of the regular dishes... More

Just returned from a Sunday lunch at the Ruperra arms and my ears are still ringing. We were seated at a table, squashed in the corner, next to a large noisy party and couldn't hear ourselves talk. The food was tasty although the starters and deserts were smaller than average and I had to ask for another dish of veg,... More

We have been here several times. I can't say we've had a bad meal but not desperately good either. I feel the menu choices are too limited.... I can understand that they may prefer to concentrate on fewer and do them well but there was not one starter that I fancied (I am not a fussy eater)... perhaps it's just... More

We were a big party with a toddler on a family weekend catch-up and drowning our sorrows after a disappointing rugby international the previous day...but toasting our Irish Cousins! Really cosy dining room, very good attentive service and excellent food that was enjoyed by all, with very generous portions. Good value and I am sure we will be returning.....thank you!

Got completely stuck on the road outside due to it being horribly busy due to m4 eastbound being closed. Only stopped in desperation to give the kids a run around in the next door playground. Decided to try the pub rather than get back in the traffic jam. From the outside it looks poor, but inside it turns out that... More
