Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just had the best meal with a friend this week....the food/wine and service all so good. Really thoroughly enjoyed everything! Very reasonably priced also..both our mains were £14 and the wine £23.95. The Korean chicken dish was especially impressive!

I got disappointed many times with this place. It used to be amazing place but something changed… I wouldn’t recommend this place for food and even drinks…This place always offers amazing choice of cocktails but for some reason Bloody Mary is always a problem, while...it is so easy to make - Big Tom and Vodka… we always need to think of alternatives and this time we ordered Shandy . It was warm and we had half of glass and left. It used to be a nice place but something changed…More

Attended The French Dinner Menu with wines from Patterson & Co on 19th January - 5 course tasting menu with matching wines! Lovely evening, great food and matching wines were superb. Niall's knowledge and enthusiasm about the wine was a joy to experience. Definitely recommend...checking this out if Horatio's do this again. 😁More

Just left Horatio's today and had a really super Sunday Roast with all the Trimmings. The service was superb, the meal was hot and very tasty - definitely a first class restaurant. My Wife and I would just like to thank Daniel who served us,...he is most pleasant, attentive and polite and a great asset to Horatio's. We look forward to returning many more times as most of the locals do not come up to Horatio's standard of food and service. Kindest regards Ken & Marta PattersonMore

Visited here on Friday 5th January. My father had travelled over from England for the weekend and we wanted to grab a quick pint while we waited for our takeaway. It was 6pm, put not overly busy and granted I was in sports kit as...this is what I wear in my day job. As we walked through the door, the doorman came flying over…. ‘You can’t come in wearing sports kit’. That’s fine, I totally understand rules are rules, so can we sit outside in the cold at least? ‘NO!’ Anyway, we left and went elsewhere. The next evening, we decided to return (in jeans & a shirt with my little girl and wife). We sat next to the door, and the same doorman was on shift…. Much to my amazement, a girl walks past our table and the doorman in her SPORTS KIT. Ok, let that one slide. 5 minutes later, a man comes in with his partner, he’s stood talking to the doorman laughing and joking in his SPORTS KIT. In he comes to order a drink at the bar. Makes me wonder, why was I refused with my 60 year old father. Was it because we don’t have a local accent? Such a shame as it’s the best bar in Ballyhac.. time to keep up with the times guys, and be consistent with your rules especially for people not from Northern Ireland. Not an attractive look for you!More

Great food reasonably priced and lovely staff. Only complaint is dining room was noisy from the bar. I know it was a busy Christmas period but was hard to talk over noise. But everything else was great

Peter, I think we both know this is nonsense. Two gentlemen were asked to leave and left which any incident. Even this in itself is unusual in Horatio Todd's, and certainly none went to A&E.

Having been a regular visitor to Horatio’s for years, we booked a Christmas dinner here. On arrival at 8:30pm, we were told the kitchen closed soon & they would have to speed up (that was their set time, not our choice). We were then not...allowed to order drinks one or two at a time, only a round of drinks for the table, otherwise we would have to go to the bar ourselves. The dinner was subpar, with skinny cuts of meat and the meal bulked out with mashed potato. Will not be returning for food anytime soon and definitely would not recommend for a Christmas meal.More

Great food, reasonable prices and incredible service. Special thanks to Willie who always goes out of his way to look after Lindsay and I. A pub that's truly the hub of the community.

Party of 7 booked in mid-week. We all had the 3 course Christmas menu for £29 including a glass of wine. Food and service excellent. Highly recommended given the current Christmas menu rates in the area and in Belfast.

Yes, no problem at all with families. The dining area is a bit removed (round the corner) from the bar...at least where we were sat so it works well.
