The Dock Cafe relies on donations - the coffee, fresh buns and hot soup are offered from local suppliers with no price tag - just faith in the goodness of people and trust. You can even bring your own food! The cafe was furnished completely through donations of furniture, artwork, sculpture and shipyard memorabilia, creating a funky, eclectic atmosphere full of talking-points and conversation starters. Everyone involved is a volunteer - many of them local residents and students from the college who enjoy being part of building community life in their new home.

This is a donation only cafe, where there are no set prices, you pay what you think it's worth. We paid £10 for 2 coffees and 2 scones and 1 tray bake. Dont expect top of the range coffee, it's really just filter coffee but...they do have different milk choices. However, there is a great selection of tray cakes and scones. It has nice sofas to relax and enjoy your food and drink. A really nice place.More

On route heading to the Titanic quarter we had a pit stop at the Dock for a wee cuppa. This cafe is provided by Volunteers and its a donation for the cuppa and a wee fresh baked scone/cake. The people that work and volunteer are...amazing, friendly and very obliging. Pop in have a cuppa and make a donation.More

I found this café by pure chance when walking the Maritime Mile in the Titanic quarter. What a find and such a great concept! You make a donation rather than direct payment. This can be done with cash or via a PayPal app. Lovely, strong...black coffee in a mug. Food choices are limited to scones and cakes but that suited me fine at the time I went. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly.More

Warm inviting friendly no fuss, perfect for a family lunch. Spar and subway nearby, facilitating the varying needs and preferences of families life! Staff so helpful. Just the heads up that they only do scones teas coffee. Well worth financially supporting for their humble approach...to people’s well-being over profit alone!!More

We had just arrived in Belfast with my family ready to do the open top tour and fancied a drink. Spotted the signs and popped in, we were met by a lovely lady at the door who explained that it was all done on donations...and honesty. Couldn't believe it and it certainly didnt disappoint lovely tea, coffee, and squash with a lovely selection of cakes and nibbles. Can't rate it highly enough excellent experience. Will definitely be back.More

A great place. Atmosphere is warm and friendly, even in a covid-19 world. Tray bakes are scrumptious.
