Easy to book Great table downstairs....quieter than main restaurant seating at street level Excellent food at reasonable price...as they say you get what you pay for. Excellent service from very pleasant and competent staff they look after you well. Most definitely will be back to this jewel in Belfasts crown

Work commitments have prevented a Valentine's Day outing for us, luckily enough as Shu's booking list was full for the 14th. We've eaten here many times for family lunches, dinners, outings with friends and it is a firm favourite for ambience, good service, and excellent food. It was nice to see the owner there tonight, keeping in touch with his... More

I just love visiting this restaurant! The staff are friendly and well informed about the dishes. Ambience excellent, there is always a buzz about Shu. Food is superb. Four of us went this time. Three had pate starter, I had the smoked salmon - all very good. All mains were fantastic including aged sirloin steak, lamb and chickpea curry, cornfed... More

£3 starters and £8 main courses were exceptionally good value and the quality and the quantity were both excellent. The chicken liver and foie gras pate was excellent and the apple jelly complemented the starter very well.Main courses of chicken and veal liver were well presented and full of flavour. Service unobtrusive and very efficient.

This was my fourth visit to the restaurant which has always been excellent. However, on this visit we had been put on a table for two right at the back next to a very long table of approx. 15/20. We had been in the restaurant for about 20 mins when the other party arrived and the noise was awful, it... More

I have used Shu's private dining room for business meals over the years and it is an excellent venue with consistently good food. The private room is upstairs and seats around 20 people. I don't know if it has lift access, so worth asking about that in advance. The Christmas menu is always good, with pork belly, risottos, fish and... More

This was our first time at Shu to celebrate a big birthday (8 adults). Our coats were taken when we arrived and overall the service was excellent. Very busy but not too noisy. Food was delicious and presentation was superb. The salt and chilli squid for starter was very popular and really tasty. We hope to return again soon for... More

We had lunch on a Saturday & ate off the "business lunch" menu. One course £9.50, 2 courses £13.25. Exceptional value for money. Starters: Risotto of curried chicken, raisins & apple and the Smoked mackerel & horseradish, toasted sourdough. Mains: Crispy pork belly, creamed sprouts, potato terrine and the Beef Bourguignon, mashed potato. We also had an Irish Coffee &... More

We ordered Seabass risotto which was Superb in taste and presentation. We also ordered the lamb with curry beans and it's was so good too. The sides was salad and champ ( mashed potatoes) again their taste are unique. So far that's the best restaurant in Belfast. The kids meal was so good and the portion was fare enough.

We have been in this restaurant for a lunch. It is quite known in Belfast for good cuisine, therefore we decided to give it a try. Well, we were satisfied with food, it was delicious, we started with risotto and had braised blade of beef and monkfish as our main courses and were happy with our choice. Yet I would... More
