Shocked to find seating still the same as pre-covid. Cramped together with no obvious measures taken apart from installing a screen at the order counter. A member of staff was chatting away to a group of customers (no mask) on the narrow outside balcony making...More
Stopped here a few weeks back when passing through town on a lovely summers day.
The location of this place is great, so close to the shore and the beach, with a view of both that and the surrounding greens.
I only bought coffee and...More
We are 'frequent fliers' at this delightful place. It is a family-run enterprise and there's always a warm welcome. Its situation commands the best sea-view in town and the food and service are first class. This place is small so, if the weather is good,...More
For Mum’s 80th, my sister and I took Mum for a trip up the Antrim Coast to Portrush (full of happy memories for us) and popped in at the Shorebird. I ordered the food/tea and asked if they could put ‘80’ candle, that I had,...More
This little gem of a coffee shop sits on the promenade at Ballycastle with a fantastic view of the beach and harbour. The place is spotless and the coffee and eats were serve in a very timely manner ..... and they were delicious.

I am baffled by this personal attack on me. If you are the owner of the Shorebird and feel slighted, I apologise. I have the highest regard for this coffee shop. I fully appreciate that it is not a restaurant but the categorisation belongs to Trip Advisor and not to me; Trip Advisor has no category for coffee shops, only restaurants. If you look at Trip Advisor's list of 'restaurants' in Ballycastle you will find it simply includes places that provide food, such as Donnelly's Bakery and Coffee Shop and Morton's Fish & Chip Shop - neither of which is a restaurant. Finally, I thought that these postings were about reviewing places and not to launch personal attacks; your message came to me under Trip Advisor's facility to ask a question of a reviewer, but it includes no query. I suggest you have a look at Trip Advisor's Posting Guidelines regarding asking questions. I am sorry you have felt so strongly about my review.
