Came here for a meal and was severely disappointed. I got a roast beef dinner which contained one piece of broccoli, one piece of carrot, one roast potato, a small portion of mash, and 2 thinly sliced wafers of beef. Very very poor portion sizes....My husband had the same while my children aged 3 and 4 had sausages, a burger, and chips. The kids ate theirs but for £7 for a kids meal each it wasn't very appetising and the burger was bland. Service was also poor, although the staff were friendly enough. Waited to be seated when we went in but nobody attended to us so we seated ourselves. We then had to ask for menus. Once we had ordered we had noticed that a table beside us had been served quicker than us even though they had only just arrived. We were given a jug of juice for the kids but no glasses so then had to ask for those. We asked for straws but didn't get those either. All in all, a pretty bad experience. I wouldn't waste my time or money going back. The bill came to £64 altogether in what was a disappointing experience.More

Steak was bland as with the pepper sauce ,runny and tasteless. And a very small pot of tea, that cost pounds 3 pounds extra. A paltry experience . Not worth the money or the visit.

Excellent customer service, very pleasant staff, delicious food, reasonable price and plenty of variety on the menu. Also very dog friendly, our golden retriever was welcome indoors beside our table as we dined. Will be returning!

Rude bar staff couldn’t look up from their conversation to serve us. Ended up leaving after waiting 15 mins at the bar to be served and it wasn’t even busy!!

Very disappointing all round. We were eventually shown to a seat after standing for 5 minutes and two people asking if they could help us. We weren't asked if we had any allergies but were seated in an area which I can only assume is...their 'dog friendly area' and were promptly surrounded by 4 dogs. Once seated we weren't asked for our drink order which is usually the first thing any server asks. There was one girl taking orders every 10 minutes or so or whenever it seemed to suit her. Even though we had been waiting 25 minutes she went to the table beside us who had just arrived and took their order. We left after this and went to the Harbour House where we had a lovely meal with exceptional service from start to finish.More

Very disappointing visit. The meal was mediocre at best, unclean, rude staff member (male) & still searching for baby changing facilities. Ended up changing the baby on my knee in a dirty toilet (pungent smell would knock you out) with no lock and a swinging...door.More

After having THREE dates for our wedding (originally planned for south Wales) being postponed due to covid my wife and I were delighted to finally tie the knot in what was her late grandmothers hometown. It was very appealing to us to have accommodation right...next door to the venue as we had quite a large amount of guests travelling from across the UK at relatively short notice. This was not only convenient for our our own piece of mind but great for the cousins with young children. The bar next to the wedding venue was an excellent place for everyone to use as a meeting point in the days leading up to our big day and the staff ensured all our needs were met from top of the range tea bags to showing particular football matches for the boys. The weeding coordinator's were able to arrange for all of the family to stay in rooms close by which was great leading up the hours before the ceremony. After having a lovely afternoon in Tollymore forest park at the photoshoot we made our way back to the complex for our meal which was served in the private loft. The food was great and the staff worked extremely hard despite being very young. We were impressed. We were then taken to the (massive)! main function room where the party was held. Our first dance was great however the wedding DJ made sure everyone was able to boogie . By 1.30 am half of us had blister's on our feet yet smiles on our faces. We were assured when leaving that our possessions we were too joyous to remember taking with us would be in safe hands and the next morning we received everything we had left. My main criticism would be the lack of premium whisky on offer which my uncles had a moan about. Thank you guys and we look forward to returning once the weein comes along.More

We chose this venue as we wanted somewhere more casual and there weren't many options in Newcastle. During planning, communication was very patchy and slow. No option to do menu or wine tasting and limited wine options. On the day, we were really disappointed with...the staff. They were untrained, unsupervised, at times rude and very slow with any tasks. It was very frustrating that, as the bride, I ended up constantly chasing people, or trying to do things myself. No attention to detail, they served people with nut allergies food with nuts, they forgot to serve my wedding cake and I had to find someone and ask about it, and wine for my wedding had been delivered to the wrong venue but this wasn't discovered until we were about to serve it. It could be a good venue and has a good pub vibe but I definitely couldn't recommend it. Very unpleasant to hear from several guests that they were treated rudely.More

Came in for lunch after a hike, including us there was 8 people in. Lunch took 40 minutes to arrive after ordering. I was served 5 small cold goujons and a childrens portion of chips and a small side salad. Very poor standard of food....Friend had fish and chips, which again was like a childrens portion and another had a steak sandwich which was meant to be a ciabatta but was served on half a small garlic bread, also a small portion of chips. All in all it was very disappointing and wouldn’t go back for food. The bar staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.More

Called in for lunch. Waited 15 minutes for a pint of Guinness and a glass of water to be served. Ordered a fish and chips for lunch. £15 for a children's portion of chips and a skimpy bit of breaded fish. But the worst thing...was the place was full of flies which made eating unpleasant. Mentioned this to the waitress who said its because the doors keep opening. Suggested they could try using a spray to deter the flies. Also management should look to employ a window cleaner as the windows are filthy both inside and out. Will not be back.More
