Great evening meal. I had the burger and partner had the pasta dish. Both very filling. Chefs do not scrimp on the food. Lovely atmosphere. Nice outside area which is covered and people can smoke if they wish. Great view.

My husband and I have been here several times in our short stay in Derry. Staff and customers very welcoming. The food has been first class. A great variety offered and caters for food allergies. We will definitely come here again.
Food was delicious staff very polite and very helpful can't recommend burger enough absolutely delicious nothing to much problem for staff very welcoming
Lovely staff, nice menu , good food and a warm welcome. Will definitely be back. A very nice bar/restaurant.
Easily the best lunch on our entire Ireland vacation. We were blown away. The food was expertly prepared and not only looked amazing, but the taste was beyond perfect. We had the Korean chicken, chicken tacos, and beef tacos. (I didn't know you got 2...tacos per order). I would highly recommend this to anyone walking the walls of Derry, looking for a great lunch or dinner stop.More
Visited the rocking chair, went up stairs for food place looked bland enough. I noticed a gentleman and lady arguing with bar staff over pricing mistakes can be made of course. I ordered the philly cheese steak well in was very poor the texture of...food was like eating rubber, my son got a burger that you could bounce of a wall and it would not fall apart. Went to pay and was charged for 2 bottles of cider and 2 glasses of wine which we never ordered this is one place I never step foot in again ever.More
Great food, great staff, very helpful and friendly. We arrived with a disabled firend and they were very accomodating.
We loved our visits to The Rocking Chair as we stayed at the Maldron Hotel. We met a very special and kind bartender. He was so professional, wonderfully friendly and willing to share information about the extraordinary walled city of Derry. This was one of...our favorite bar/pub in Northern Ireland. It’s hospitality, variety of gathering spaces and view from the patio is by far the best place to meet a friend and enjoy some time together.More
Friendly staff, excellent food and a good location in Londonderry. We had to wait a bit but it is understandable as it was really packed. Besides, the time went by quick sipping their excellent beer and listening to the band playing downstairs.
I stayed at the nearby hotel "Maldron" which in itself is a great hotel. Rocking Chair pub/bar is a very short walk from the hotel, at the top of Waterloo Street and right next to the historic Derry City Wall. I had already eaten, so...what I had was several rounds of great beer. The atmosphere is very inviting and the bartenders are very friendly. Definitely recommend to add to the "places to visit" during a Derry stay.More
This is my favourite pub on Waterloo Street in Derry. The food is far better than your typical pub cuisine. The staff are top notch. The live music on the weekends is really good as well. Five stars!
We took advice from our Daughter to go here for lunch, Friday. Place was quiet but it was slightly later, a few came in after us. Made to feel welcome, lunch was served in the lounge at the back. Service was great and staff were...friendly and took time to have a chat when we came in Had a Guinness as a starter and it was a great pint. Food was fantastic, we really enjoyed it and will be back. I've heard Sunday lunch, served up stairs, is excellent as well.More
We visited this pub for a lunch and while from the ouside it felt like a small pub, it was surprisingly huge when we entered & were asked to step in to the rear side to eat. The outside sitting was quite spacious and we...got to sit on the edge with the beautiful views. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The whole reason for this review of mine is their Spiced Chickpea burger - what a delight this is for vegetarian people, I absolutely loved it and only if I could eat more, would have had a second one too. It's a must try if you are vegetarian.More
We called into this pub to get a drink and a bite to eat The food was excellent. Way better that we were expecting and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and friendly They had a good menu with one of the best food...allergens guides that I have seen Made picking something to eat that much easier I will definitely be backMore
