I visited Jack's Grill on Sunday 22nd January for the first time but I definitely won't be back. We tried to order a draught beer, as advertised on the menu, but were told that they no longer do that - it's just bottles. If that's...the case, time to invest in some new menus. I tried to order a particular burger (the Double Jack) but was told that it wasn't available because it's Sunday and they had run out of some stuff - I'm guessing they only get 1 delivery each week. We both ordered burgers and the corn on the cob on both plates was stone cold - plus it looked like a mini corn on the cob had been cut in half and split between the plates. When the waitress returned with them, they looked like they had been thrown into a deep fat fryer (but at least they were hot). The coleslaw on my plate was very watery and unappetising. I had the BBC burger and the piece of chicken was pretty small and didn't fill the bun in any way. Although there were only 3 other tables of people in at the time, we were seated right next to the cutlery station on a wobbly table, despite there being many other tables available - during which time one of the staff made as much noise as they possibly could when putting cutlery away. The reason I gave it 1 star is that our waitress was pleasant but that was the only redeeming factor. The kitchen seems to close pretty early as there were at least 2 lots of people wanting to come in to eat only to be told that they were too late so they ended up having to recommend somewhere else to go, which I found quite ironic. I would definitely not recommend visiting Jack's Grill.More

Absolutely amazed at the shocking quality of my meal this evening. Ordered the fish and chips, priced at £14.50. This is what I received. I work in hospitality and my work sell this meal at the price of £13.95 and the fish is almost triple...the size. Daylight robbery. The chips tasted better than the fish itself. Think prices need to be reconsidered :)More

This is one restaurant we will not be returning too. The food was less than mediocre. The service was terrible. Mistakes do happen which is understandable but trying to run an entire restaurant with only 3 members of staff is just not going to work....Don’t waste your money.More

I had booked a table today for some food and drinks. We arrived at our time of booking and waited beside the bar for someone to seat us… as stated on arrival. The “lady” behind the bar made eye contact with me then walked away...into the kitchen leaving so staff on the floor. We stood for 10 minutes. She then came out with what looked like basic food and said “stand over there, I’ll get you in a minute” so off we went to stand again. Then she absolutely ignored us, seated the couple behind us in the queue, took their drinks order and food and went to the till. No acknowledgement, no apologies offered so we simply said to her we wished to cancel our booking and we were going to go elsewhere. I was met with a sarcastic and downright bulldog face reaction. It wasn’t even busy when we arrived, three tables occupied. AVOIDMore

Chose to book Dinner here after recommendations on social media. The building is beautiful. Ambience was nice, although the Staff were very busy. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive despite other tables who came in after us getting theirs first. Our sides...came 10mins after our mains. The steaks tasted of pure charcoal, like extremely overpowering. I say my partner is like a seagull as he will legit eat anything but even he struggled to eat his steak. The peppercorn sauce tasted of nothing. The chips were fabulous and the macaroni was probably the best restaurant macaroni I have ever had. Just unfortunately not to our expectations. We probably won’t be back due to our steak experience. The couple beside us had a similar issue I believe. However if I ever want a decent macaroni cheese I know where to go! Our waitress was lovely.More

As the title indicates, avoid this “restaurant” at all costs. Went out for a meal for a friend moving to London and the lasting impression this experience has gave him of Aberdeen culinary establishments will haunt him for years. Waiting 30 minutes for a pint...of beer, not ideal. I like beer and don’t like waiting, mark down for me. Heating up at 50 degrees. Good charitable work in a cost of living crisis, however not ideal when you are trying to enjoy a meal. Then we come to the food. Two hours after entering the place, about 1.5 hours after ordering some food still hadn’t arrived. The food that did arrive had all the quality of the proverbial Rustlers burger. Some ate food, some left the restaurant with a belly as empty as the award cabinet at said establishment. Lastly, the pints of god knows what that the waiter tried to serve were an absolute disgrace. Flatter than the runway of Aberdeen airport. Looked like irn bru. Prison food, prison service with a well paid heating bill. As the Quiz host in the Adam Sandler movie Billy Maddison said, “I award you no points, and May god have mercy on your soul.”More

It did not start well. They had canceled our booking with limited notification. However they arranged a table for us all, seven in the party. When the orders started they missed orders and we had to remind and reorder for some of the partisans. Happened...several times during the stay. We had many serving us but it seamed to without control or system. This as they asked the same and still not managed to get the orders correct. Food was OK but not great.More

Food and service were good. Chips portion could be slightly bigger. Didn’t have cocktails this time but they are usually very good. Upsetting that it wasn’t clear on restaurant week menu that there was set times for it - this should be made very clear...next year.More

After wanting to try Jack's Grill for a while, we made sure to book in advance as they are always busy Fri/Sat evenings. Its a great venue with both upstairs & downstairs seating areas, the staff are really friendly always willing to go the extra...mile to make you feel at home. Food is fantastic, highly recommend the Cheese & Bacon Burger or the Steak, most popular dishes here definitely! lovely menu with things like Mac n Cheese, Fajitas, Fish and not forgetting the steak/burgers. Service is always with a smile and quick too, no long waiting times even with it being fully booked. Shoutout to the chef Finlay for the lovely food, cooked to perfection & just how we ordered. Highly recommend visiting Jack's Grill for both lunch and evening meals and with the city centre location, it couldn't of been better.More

I came here last night around 19:00 for dinner. The service was first class. The food was delicious. We had chicken fajitas and haddock & chips and both were cooked to perfection. The bill came to just under £40 for two people which was decent...value for money. They seemed to have good Track & Trace procedures and all the tables were spread out which was good to see. We will definitely come back again, and I would recommend this place to others.More
