I have only ever been to the Dutch Mill for lunch and always fancied visiting in the evening, so after a busy day of shopping with the family we decided to book a table for some dinner before heading home. As we entered we were greeted by a really friend waitress, she was american and went the extra mile to have a laugh with us & was so friendly. She recommended the boar burger, to which I had and then the rest of the family had Macaroni/Scampi. We ordered Nachos as a starter which came out in no time at all: proper cheddar cheese, jalapeños & sour cream, it was delicious. Our mains then came out in great time, it was all hot & proper home cooked food, definitely worth every penny, they offer specials and a Sunday roast, so perfect for any tastebuds. Its a clean, modern restaurant with outdoor marque seating, the staff are so friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Pricing was great, not too expensive for the portion you get, will definitely be back.

I ate here last night with the missus. We got a table in the big marquee that fills the front car park area. The staff could not have been more helpful, and they have a good Track & Trace system in place. The food was decent pub grub. I went for the Haggis Bon Bons for starter (£5.95) which were OK, and I went for the Steak Pie for main course (£10.95) which was quite tasty and came with a good portion of carrots, peas and potatoes. The missus went for the Chili Nachos for starter and the Seabass for main course, both of which she scoffed. The bill came to £40 before our discounts were applied which was OK value. I would happily eat here again, and I would recommend this place to folk wanting a no frills pub meal where you can watch sport on big screen TVs in an informal setting.

I met a friend in The Dutch Mill due to its convenience. I had never visited it before but we received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. After some friendly discussion our drinks order was taken and swiftly dispensed. Then our food order was taken and served up reasonably quickly and it was not only beautifully presented, but tasted delicious. This place could not be faulted and we will return very soon.

I hope this was a one off, but the service today was very disappointing. Some of the table waitresses couldn't be any less attentive if they tried, unless you were one of their friends. Several times one of our party had to journey from the furthest away table to the bar to attract any attention! Food was decent as usual, but the cutlery came in installments....surely it's not too difficult to count out 8 knives and forks! The manager did applogise and the service was better after we spoke up. The caesar salad I ordered as a main came as the starter version, but I was too pissed off to complain any further. Won't rush back I'm afraid to say...

We'd never been here before but was out for a walk over the Christmas holidays and decided to give it a try. When you go in, you are in a marquee where the car park was and we weren't sure whether or not to stand there until we were seated, or to just go in. We stood for a little while but nobody came over, so decided to walk further in still unsure what the procedure was. We entered the main building and caught a member of staff who we asked for a table, and he pointed us into the bar area. We wandered around not knowing who to ask as we'd never been there before. It was really busy and nobody seemed available. I wanted to leave by this point as I was hungry and couldn't be bothered hawking around trying to find someone, but my other half went over to the bar and spoke to someone who then sent another member of staff over. We were seated in the conservatory bit which was nice. We ordered drinks but they didn't have the one I wanted so I ordered something else instead, which wasn't a problem. The vegan menu was a bit weird with things like baked potato with beans and vegan cheese, or macaroni with pesto. I ordered the baked potato with beans and cheese as I didn't really fancy anything else and husband had fish & chips. Mine arrived minus the cheese and after raking through the beans to check it wasn't underneath, I got the waiter over but he wasn't sure if it was meant to come with cheese. It was taken away and returned again this time with the grated vegan cheese over it. The dry salad looked like something from the 70s with iceberg lettuce and sweetcorn. The fish & chips were fine. It just wasn't very good all in all, kind of reminded me of school dinners when I was at school. It was really busy though with people eating. Maybe we were just unlucky.

This is a nice place to go for a drink, but the food is very average at above average prices. For example, the chicken fillets are huge, but the batter or breadcrumb coatings were completely bland and tasteless. The chips are cheap frozen ones. The burger didn’t seem made on the premises either, just bought in and cooked there. I wouldn’t even try the likes of the curry as I’ve zero faith it’s made there and I think you’d just be getting something from Costco. Far more effort is needed on the food for the prices charged.

Just returned this evening from a family meal. First impressions of car park turned into marquee very basic particularly in comparison to the Chesterfield up the road. But we were willingly to accept in the current circumstances. Service initially excellent (young chap fair hair) then it seemed to be a free for all with a variety of servers. This would all be tolerable if we had felt confident in the levels of cleanliness absolutely no staff wore a mask nor did anyone entering ! We weren’t asked to sanitise our hands prior to sitting. We watched a young girl clean a table and chairs not once using the sanitising spray (old cloth) this seemed reserved for the menu only. Also we had one member of staff serve us with a big black faux leather and fur jacket ! Entirely unhygienic all uniforms should be washable. Finally food mediocre really just think of as a pub grub sort of venue. We have travelled all around Scotland in that last two weeks from Cullen Inverness to Skye and this was by far the least COVID prepared restaurant we have visited.

Was booked by family member for a birthday get together. We were sat in the 'outside inside' eating area, it was 7pm and a cold evening! The one bar heater above the table did nothing to help warm us up. Its not very enjoyable sitting eating a meal with a thick jacket on. Maybe need to add extra heating during winter months if they are keeping this area open. Our drinks order was taken quite quickly but took about 15mins to get it. There was no sign of anyone coming to take food order so a party member had to ask. The food was served relatively quick by 3/4 members of staff. Good portions and I suppose good value for west end. The pastry in my steak pie didn't seem freshly baked and was cold compared to the meat and veg. There was a distinct lack of customer service , maybe some staff training needed! No one came to ask if we wanted dessert and after 3 attempts at trying to get a servers attention, we had to walk to the bar and ask for service! It was disappointing as I'd heard good reviews but I wont be in a rush to go back. I've had much better experiences, food and value for money at some other establishments in town.

Having gone to the pub for an afternoon drink on Saturday we were warmly welcomed and experienced excellent service throughout! We hadn't come for food but after being greeted with scrumptious smells we had an early dinner. We were not disappointed... despite the pub being fully booked, the food arrived swiftly and was absolutely delicious! I cannot recommend enough. All the staff were incredibly smiley, polite and helpful. Complimentary mulled gin tasters were also circulated which was such a pleasant surprise and a great way to welcome the festivities. I now feel very christmassy and have already booked to go back again next week!

One of my favourite places to eat and so for my 50th booked for a family meal. Some of my family have never been to the Dutch Mill and it was also my 6month old grandchild’s first family meal out and he was well catered for. We were able to book the private room, which the family were allowed to decorate with balloons and banners. Angela and the rest of the staff were helpful, cheery and polite, all going out their way to make my birthday celebrations special. The food was served quickly and everyone loved their meals. We had plenty time for 3 courses and never felt rushed. Definitely recommend the Dutch Mill

Came for dinner here, taking relatives out for a special meal, but left disappointed. I do not recommend this place and will not be visiting again. The restaurant is nice enough and the service was actually very good, polite and friendly waitresses who went out of their way to be helpful. But the food was very average (even a supermarket ready meal is probably better!) and at prices far too high for what we were served. Such a shame to come out for a special meal and find it such a disappointment. Car park is also a disaster - beware!

Had a very disappointing meal here yesterday evening. I had a prawn Marie Rose salad. The prawns were flavourless and watery with thin mayo. The salad consisted of ready made coleslaw, iceberg lettuce and tinned pineapple and peach like a 1970s throwback. Chips served with it were hard and re cooked. My husband said his fish and chips was also poor. Pleasant waiting staff but we won’t be back!

Decided to go here with friends the other weekend, so glad we came food was really good - breaded chicken goujons and chilli nachos. Since opening after Covid there is a live band every weekend which is what Aberdeen is missing in its nightlife. Staff were friendly and pleasant. I will definitely return during the festivities!

Nice restaurant setting. Wife and I visited with friends on Friday evening for dinner. The menu choice and standard of food was very good and reasonably priced. The only downfall was the service. Waiter didnt know what the days specials were and in general waiting staff not very attentive - perhaps not enough staff was a factor. We had to more than one occasion ask to be served.
