We landed in Aberdeen on a cold winters day in search for a great restaurant to accommodate us for lunch. Silver Darling had been recommended to us so we made the short drive out to the pier and we were certainly not disappointed. Service was fantastic , food was exceptional and I might just say it maybe the best fish... More

Silver Darling is in an interesting setting right at the Harbour entrance, the passing Shipping traffic adds interest to the occasion especially after dark. The food was excellent all three dishes were a pleasant surprise with unidentified flavours adding interest. We dined early evening and were a bit disappointed that there was little buzz. The service was friendly and attentive... More

Visited for dinner with my wife and daughter Sept 2016. Wonderful location with panoramic views over the beach and harbour. All options on the menu are seasonal, locally sourced, and landed fresh that day. I had the scallops to start followed by the lemon sole. Wow what can I say? Just good food beautifully cooked and presented in wonderful surroundings.... More

My family and I have been going to this resteraunt for the last 15 years, for christmas and birthdays. Always a treat! The last 2 times I have been there the food has been disappointing. Had duck 3 ways to start, which tasted bland, and the croquet style ball was deeply over cooked. The main fish course, lemon sole, which... More

Visited for dinner with friends on a very busy Saturday night. We all enjoyed the food and service on a compact fixed price 3 course menu. Lovely duck 3 ways and as expected the fish main was lovely. Excellent service and food value for money given the quality on offer.

I took my 28 year old daughter here on an Itison voucher as she had always wanted to try here. I have been before and in the past have used Groupon vouchers. Whether you are paying £25 for a voucher or full menu price the quality of service, fresh food and overall ambiance does not change and is always top... More

Loved the little amuse bouche that arrived before our starters. We were recommended a nice white wine which went down a treat. Starters looked and tasted beautiful and my bass for main course was delicious. Would come back here in a heartbeat and will recommend to friends.

Nice restaurant by the sea outside the city centre. Promising menu with a four course meal for 45 GBP. The prawn and crab starter was all right, but was a bit plain. The venison was over cooked for a medium/rare order and tasted from liver. All together a disappointment given all the high reviews. The staff was friendly but could... More

So the silver darling was one of my favourite places to go until my last visit. Big change here for me profit over customer satisfaction has definitely overtaken. Now I ll skip the starter and go straight onto my main turkey with all the trimmings woah!!! A plate of nothing that was swimming in a plate of oily gravy well... More

If you are looking for the best view in Aberdeen, this is the place. Good fresh seafood with great view. Nice designed restaurant with good flavors and fresh ingredients. Well worth a visit.

Named after a local term for herring, Silver Darling makes the most of a superb spot at the entrance of Aberdeen harbour. Built on the flat roof of the old customs house, the conservatory style restaurant commands panoramic views of the Dee estuary one side, and the length of the beach and headland the other (summer sunsets are priceless). A classic French menu is a triumph of superbly presented dishes, singing with flavour. Three courses at dinner could start with oysters marinated with lime and Granny Smiths, followed by pan-fried Atlantic sea bream in red wine, and the dessert du jour.
