We had a really lovely family lunch with good food and friendly staff. The atmosphere was charming and welcoming.

We were made very welcome and the dogs were provided with water and biscuits. The chef even came out with a bowl of chicken for them. Lovely Cullen skink for the humans too!
Overall my stay was pretty good, just with the odd slight niggle. Would book here again though tbh when next in the lovely area of Arbroath, which is a must visit for anyone. Hotel pro's - Really nice location at the end of the town...centre, so very close to shops and restaurants and local theatre etc. Is right on the waterfront for lovely views and walks and photos. It's a quiet area & beds are pretty comfortable so got a decent night's sleep. Bathroom facilities were ok as well. Whole room was clean and tidy and hygienic etc. Cons - check in could be earlier than the 4pm time, definitely change it to 3pm which is the norm for the vast majority of places - that would make a difference for so many customers, especially when I'd paid the best part of £100 a night. Also, as I entered the upstairs corridor to head to the room, there was a lingering smell of something which wasn't the most pleasant, it didn't smell in the room though thankfully. As I said though only a slight niggle, but I'd stay again next time I'm in the area.More
Lkvely surroundings. Excellent food and great service. Would definitely recommend. Will certainly return.
Popped in on the of chance that food was being served at 3pm as we were craving fish and chips after a walk along the beach. The waitress was lovely and friendly, service quick and they welcomed dogs which was great.
Premises are spotless, parking might be a problem we were lucky and managed a free place nearby but there are paid parking nearby. Very good menu plenty to chose from, Arbroath is a busy fishing port so expect all the seafood is top quality but...you will find something to suit your taste. Cold day so just wanted a quality fish and chips, not disappointed fish very fresh, must have a live tank out the back, perfectly cooked, crisp batter. Bowl of warming soup to start with it too was full of flavour. Waitress very helpful asked about portion size and offered half portion, we are retired and cannot eat hugh portions any more, prefer quality over quantity. Half portion soup for us both more than enough, served with warm roll and butter. I had large haddock wife had half portion, just perfect although I could not eat all the excellent chips, sorry chef! Tartar sauce a bit too creamy for us needed more capers but OK. We had Australian Chardonnay which was very good, if other wines are this good you will get something to suit.More
The best cullen skink. Lovely staff. I was in their adjoining hotel rooms for a few days and ate here every day.
We had a wonderful stay here and would love to go back. We had a huge comfortable quiet room with a fabulous sea view. a walk-in wardrobe and an enormous bathroom. Only slight quibble was that the bathroom could do with a long shelf to...put all your stuff on that you use int he bathroom. Sadly they don;t do cooked breakfasts but will provide cold things the night before, but there are plenty of places within easy walking distance that serve nice breakfasts. Our dinner was first class - lots of lovely fish dishes including the smokies we had come for. Clearly a popular place as it was packed, and deservedly so.More
Perfect for our pre-concert dinner. Staff were supper friendly and attentive and the Food was exceptional. A perfect and relaxing visit. We will be back (again!)
My wife and I stay here overnight and found it to be great we eat there one night I had a home made chicken curry which was excellent the manageress was very nice polite and helped us and we would like to thank her for...thatMore
This meal was terrible. The starter had a hard, encrusted shell. The mains of fish, chips and peas was equally unappetising.
Pork Bons Bons starter - 2 burnt, solid outer balls with salad on a tiny plate. Fish & chips - fish in soggy batter, overcooked frozen peas, chips ok. Inedible meal (managed the salad and a few chips. Delved into the soggy mess of batter...to find some edible fish.) £18 deal per person - I was absolutely disappointed. Will never retun or recommend to anyone else - especially after travelling all day. Truly fed up!More
This was always a great place to go for a nice meal with freshly prepared food Our latest visit with grandchildren was however extremely disappointing. The children’s menu was very limited - chips with everything and had we known the portion sizes we would have...chosen an adult plate for our eldest as a hot dog and half a dozen chips was barely enough for her. My choice of curry was tasty but on the pricey side at almost £15 My husband’s crepe was served with vegetables and chips ( which had they been served separately would have been nicer) was poor value for money. Overall the experience was not as we had hoped or expectedMore
A warm welcome on arrival. We were directed to the dog friendly bar. The lovely lady then brought our dog Mabel treats and water. The chef brought out chicken for Mabel too and she made a fuss of Mabel. The food was great tasting and...great value. Highly recommend the Old Brewhouse Arbroath.More
We stayed here last night, it was the most pleasant stay. We stayed in the room called Signal Tower (twin room)… it was lovely, modern, clean and well appointed. The view from our room was lovely. Looking out over the harbour towards Fife. What really...made this place so nice was the friendly staff. We had a very warm welcome and they booked us a table for dinner with no problem. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the food was beautiful - again attentive and professional staff on hand to help. I highly recommend this place to stay for a night or two, or simply to book a nice meal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️More
