Coast is a favourite place for us & we always try to eat here when in Oban. Still as good as ever. A small place serving modern British cuisine; Choce of a la carte or classical menus-something to suit everyone. We started with the scallops...& black pudding. Generous number of scallops, delicious, perfectly cooked. For mains, my other half picked a fillet steak which arrived with awesome crispy chips & cavolo nero. I opted for the hake with a kedgeree risotto-such tasty fresh fish. Too full for puds, we enjoyed a glass of wine to complete our meals. Staff were very helpful & friendly too. Total bill £95. Absolutely worth it.......we'll be back!More

Superb meal. We both had the scallops, then sole and the halibut for mains. All beautifully cooked, finished off with chocolate tart and citrus sponge, both delicious. Can’t rate highly enough, will be back next time in Oban!

My wife and I came here on Friday night along with my American grandmother, who is currently visiting from there. Service and food were both fantastic, they even took us a little eating to accommodate the weather outside. Great little place and would highly recommend!

Ambiance, service and food were all excellent. It appears to be a popular restaurant and for good reason. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal.

Food was imaginative yet let the flavours speak for themselves. Superb scallops and excellent halibut. Service was relaxed yet excellent, quite honestly nothing could be improved on.

We went for an early evening meal, 5.30 as at short notice it was fully booked later. We had scallops and black pudding starter followed by feta and pumpkin rissoles with kale and potatoes. The starter was from the a la carte menú and the...main from the daily menu. Both were well presented and carefully cooked: the best we had in Oban on this visit. The staff were very pleasant: as the website says, attentive but not intrusive. I recommend it for a treat.More

We first visited Coast back in 2004 when Richard and Nicola had opened Coast only 2 weeks before our visit. A couple of weeks ago we made our third visit here and were just as pleased with the high quality of both food and service...as on the first visit. It is very satisfying to see a young couple that have put in so much time and effort into what is a difficult business, not only still being in business almost 20 yrs later, but still maintaining the high standard as on our first visit. Great wee place. Staff were excellent, arrived a bit early and this was not an issue. Service was great, food was fabulous and it was great being able to mix and match both menus. Overall I felt everything was fantastic and feel £160 for 4...people including drinks (3 courses) was excellent value. If staying in Oban again I will be back. Would recommend to anyone.More

Our first visit to Oban and this restaurant. Overall excellent. Great service, nice decor and layout and the food was very good indeed. We will definitely return on our next trip to Oban.

We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to fit us in for dinner. We had butternut squash risotto and angus steak. The meal was very good and nicely presented. The service was excellent. It is a small restaurant, so not a lot...of seating.More

Just had dinner here on our visit to Oban. It was the very best dinner we have had in Scotland so far. The food was excellently prepared and the staff worked as a true team. They were friendly without intruding. The owners are a husband...and wife team with the husband as the chef and the wife running the dining room. A truly friendly and outstanding dining experience that we highly recommend to everyone.More

Booked this well ahead due to previous reviews and pleased we did as packed all night. Lovely warm welcome, good menu and good wine list. Great fish as you would expect and super service. Recommend.
