Came here with the hubby for his birthday while on holiday in Connel . Starter we had ( scallops) and the crab pot) mains ( fillet steak and the halibut) all really good we enjoyed them . We finished with chocolate slice with cherries and...ice cream, what a treat it was so yummy. Staff made us feel welcome. The service was professional. They even put a candle in the dessert for hubby lolMore

Excellent, unpretentious service. The langoustine (starter plus spring potatoes turned into mains) was to die for. The important accompanying bread and butter was a bit lack lustre. Should have been crusty French rather than limp UK industrial. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent with a...nice light pudding and plenty of toffee sauce. When I mentioned that there was not not quite enough vanilla ice cream to achieve the right balance, the chef sent up an extra scoop of ice cream. Good sign of an establishment that listens. Not too much corkage charged on my bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. AlI in all a great dinner easily 4 starsMore

In a town famed for seafood the fear of disappointment appears to lurk behind every restaurant facade. However behind this slightly tired entrance such fears were vanquished. The langoustines were near perfect and the hake was presented on a bed of vegetables that complemented the...buttery fried fish. Having encountered the indifference of more famous restaurants further south at lunch time the old fashioned friendliness of Coast was most welcome. Telephone to book as like many places about; emails, online bookings and even phone messages are shunned.More

We had dinner at Coast from the a la carte menu. Every piece of it was a delight. My husband ordered the fresh crab claw pot and scraped it clean, followed by hake with herb gnocchi. He wasn't sure about having gnocchi but he thought...they were so light, it's changed his opinion of gnocchi. (Most gnocchi we've had has always been too heavy). I had scallops , which were absolutely delicious, served with tempura samphire - what a brilliant idea! How chef managed to tempura samphire is quite amazing. My main was halibut in a mussel sauce and can honestly say it was the best I've tasted. Lovely ambience in restaurant and the waitress was so friendly and attentive. Good covid guidelines, felt at ease. Again, our compliments to chef.More

We only stayed one night in Oban and stupidly didn't book anywhere for dinner so we ended up with a burger on the beach! To make up for it - we booked into Coast for lunch the following day and we were really impressed. There...is a set lunchtime menu available - three courses for £20 which is excellent value as the food is top notch. The reason for only 4 stars is due to the lack of atmosphere - we were there at lunchtime so it was very quiet - only two other tables. But some background music would have helped as there was just silence! But the service was fantastic, friendly chatty waitresses. The blade of beef was absolutely delicious.More

We really enjoyed our meal here. Best we’ve had in Oban so far. Only gripe would be my fried/roast ? potatoes were a bit hard and dry. Waitresses were lovely

Overrated, lacks atmosphere. I had the halloumi felt like eating just batter, husband had the Venison, very tough and very little of, disappointing

Waiting staff are very friendly, tables are well spaced and the food is excellent. We will certainly return here as we both really enjoyed the meals.
