Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived on a very hot day after walking from the ferry and this was a very welcome stop. The tea was good and the location was hard to beat. And they refilled my water bottle.

Very welcome stop and nice food but what a lost of waste created. I love a tea garden even more with a mug and a plate not two bags, foil, compostable cup and plastic lid all to be thrown away. Just before we arrived at...the tea garden I picked up rubbish (2 used soup cartons) from the path.More

2.5 miles from the ferry landing, this is a very welcome stop for food and a cup of tea before heading for Glyen Castle. We had Granny's lentil soup and chorizo stew - both vegan I assume, but I cheated and added chopped chorizo and...parmesan cheese to my chorizo stew. They came with a warm crusty roll and butter. There was a good range of cakes too.More

Had really lovely soup and coffee at the tea garden, while walking the southern circuit of Kerrera. But this small meal created an enormous amount of waste. Everything was served in compostable containers, inside paper bags or on cardboard trays. There were a range of...recycling bins with instructions on how to dispose of everything responsibly in order to save the planet. Couldn’t help thinking a better way to help save the planet would be to use proper crockery and cutlery and wash it up. It would also pleasanter to eat and drink from. It kind of spoiled the nice food, and wasn’t at all what we expected from the way the garden presents itself.More

Food and drink is still all very good but they really need a shelter for people to get out of the wind and rain. Come get your lovely food and sit on the hill in the rain. Used to be so much friendlier but now...you order from one gate move to another gate to pay. All very strict and institutional.More

I missed our 14 day deadline to write a review on Airbnb and needed to say how special this place is. My husband and I stayed there with our dogs in April. It's not one of the places that we would normally have booked but...we were stuck and I'm so happy that we did. The bunkhouse itself is dinky but has everything you need for cooking and sleeping. The outdoor toilet and shower (not outdoor but you have to walk 15 feet to get to it) was surprisingly warm and clean and with really good water pressure - I loved it! If we needed more room we went over to the Byre - it's just perfect. It's got comfy sofas, a wood burning stove and plenty of space to hang out...super super cosy with great views to the sea. Hanging out in the Byre after a day of dog walking in the rain was just perfect. Aideen and Martin are wonderful hosts and make the most beautiful cakes and soups. We brought some groceries but we could have just lived off of soup and cakes for our stay. They were able to provide us with such delights even after the tea house was closed, we just had to ask. My hubby was really really skeptical about this place but left really really impressed. Both the accommodation and food are amazing!!!More

Amazing place about an hour's walk from the ferry. Wonderful setting by Gylen Castle. Plenty of seating outdoors plus indoor tables in a semi-open barn. Friendly service. We had delicious lemon drizzle cake and coffee. Menu is on their website. This was the perfect stopping...point on the long circular walk back to the ferry. Next time we'll stay longer and have lunch.More

A must stop lunch spot if you are visiting Kerrera. We were fortunate with the weather when we visited, but they have a lovely indoor seating area as well as benches outdoors so you can enjoy some food whatever the weather. They have a bike...rack also which was handy. We were greeted and served in a friendly and welcoming manner. We had the homemade soup and shared a slice of lemon drizzle cake. Both were delicious. The soup was packed full of vegetables and served with a crusty roll and butter (would have been better if it was homemade bread but it was still good!) The lemon drizzle cake was moist with a lovely lemon flavour throughout the sponge. I also liked that they had clearly labelled recycling bins with a focus on reducing wastage. Definitely stop for a bite to eat if you visit Kerrera for the day.More

Lovely walk from the ferry terminal to this place. There's a good number of tables outside and also some indoor seating. You order at the fence near the house and wait to collect. Apart from coffee and cakes they also do soup and a roll....Coffee and cakes were very good and prices were reasonable.More

What an amazing find. The staff are lovely and the food really tasty. We had homemade lentil soup and stovies. It is a tea garden but there is indoor space provided for bad weather. There’s an emphasis on recycling, and a lovely wee loo. A...welcome refuel while doing the circular walk 😊More

The menu was varied and the we were met by one of the staff who was very friendly and helpful. Food was delivered very quickly...and was excellent. I had the Stovies which were amazing and my wife had the lentil soup which she said was the best she had ever had. Would definitely return.More

I'm glad I made the visit as I always wanted to fo having read so much about the place. The walk from the ferry is outstanding and we'll worth the trip. The tea room wasn't what I was expecting. The menu is small, over priced...and basic. The view having our refreshments were amazing but the set up is strange. You order wait and get a bag, no plates and cardboard packaging. Can't help feel that it's lacking some TLC and some ideas on how to create a better menu. We went to the Lismore Cafe earlier in the week which was totally different.More

Stopped by for lunch today while on Kerrera. What a great place, well organised , very friendly and food was lovely. Hubby had blueberry muffin, he was surprised by amount of fruit in it 😊.
