Knowing that we were having lunch in Melrose we thought that we would need to have something to eat later as we were travelling further South, so after a bit of research , I discovered Jack's takeaway and I am so glad I did.
I contacted them and enquired about the "platters" that were shown on their Facebook page. The owner (Dawn) could not have been more helpful and arranged for a sharing platter to be made up for me to collect.
The platter was several cheeses, chutneys, grapes and tomatoes accompanied by delicious bread and oatcakes. They even thought of little pats of butter.
This was excellent value and service and something I would certainly recommend if you are in the area.

This cafe/takeaway has only been open for a few months and is already building an excellent reputation.
We ordered in advance, choosing a selection of cheeses and bread. This was accompanied by oatcakes, chutney, tomatoes and grapes and presented nicely in a cardboard box. In addition we chose a couple of delicious cakes from the wide choice on offer at the counter.
If you are looking for something a bit different for a picnic then I can recommend you give this takeaway a try.

We often visit the campsite in Melrose & this has become our go to for breakfast or lunch. The food is amazing, staff are lovely, fun & friendly. The hygiene standards are excellent. We can highly recommend the food & service

Thank you to the team for providing a wonderful takeaway lunch of amazing sandwiches for our first day of walking St Cuthbert’s Way. We ordered the night before & all our orders were eating in the counter when we arrived at 9.30am the next day. We ate them at Bowden Kirk on our way to St Boswells.

After hearing all the buzz surrounding Jacks I had to stop in to see what all the fuss was about and safe to say it lives up to its reputation. I loved the smoked salmon salad bowl and the tray bakes. I will definitely è a regular at Jacks.

What a lovely wee place. Staff are so nice. We had our wee dog with us and they brought a bowl of water and some treats for him as soon as we sat down. There were 6 of us and we all loved the food. Soup was delicious. The salad was amazing and portion size was really good. And great value too. Would highly recommend Jack’s and will definitely go back if we’re back in the area.

The food was delicious especially the rocky road cakes! They has lots of different food to choose from too like soups and salads. This cafe has a wonderful friendly atmosphere with really kind and helpful staff. Will be returning soon!

My mother & I were in today for a little bite to eat, our bacon, Brie & cranberry bagel & toastie were delicious. We also took a few slices of traybake away which were equally as delicious. Highly recommend, great friendly service too.

Catered for family gathering of 16. Amazing selection, and quality. Will definitely call in for lunch, or coffee and cake. I’m also planning on treating myself to something special to take home for dinner, occasionally. Great, professional, and friendly service, to complement the excellent food.

What a wee gem of a place this is - definitely well worth a visit if you are in the area. Great baked potatoes and cakes as well as other snacks. The atmosphere in this wee cafe is lovely - so relaxed and the staff and other customers are so friendly.

5 stars nd beyond. Had the most amazing afternoon tea. Served beautifully, such a varied selection of savouries and sweet treats. Service as always so very good. Afternoon teas need to be booked in advance. Great communication from start to finish from Dawn and the staff.ade us feel so special. Thank you all so very much.

This is an amazing coffee shop! The ambience is perfect, not quiet, not noisy but with a really friendly vibe. The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant, tailoring our coffee requirements to suit. The cakes were delicious, the soup and salad perfect. The shop also sells gifts and books. We were lucky to see a local author sign his books. It is also dog friendly. Highly recommended, and we will certainly visit when we manage another visit to Melrose.

Amazing scandi sandwiches, soooo much better than getting a meal deal from coop down the road and only a £1.95 more! Lovely staff who have more than enough time for you. 100% recommend and would go back.

Wow, this place has only been open six months but they have got everything just right. Breakfast rolls are great and their home baked cakes are a delight. Lovely lattes too and really welcoming staff especially the lovely Natalie.

Popped in for coffee. Greeted by really cheerful staff. Made to feel very welcome. I’m gluten free and they had gf fruit scones which were utterly amazing. They have a few gifts, some hand made at reasonable prices. Lunch looked amazing too. You must try!
