Its a set priced menu. All mains £12.95. Big enough choice as there is steak pie burger, scampi etc etc. There is a kids menu. Service is good. Probably a tad better than pub food. Like every place now quite pricey for what you get...since covid. Days of a burger in a pub at lunch time for under £10 are gone.More

Its ideal for a cosy, family meal or informal relaxed gathering with friends…..As others have mentioned, the Steak Pie is the highlight

I had the steak pie as per usual. It was exceptional as per normal. The food never ever lets the Birkie down. That’s the reason I will continue to bring clients there for lunch. I also have to say that the service from Cheryl was...outstanding. She was very helpful & polite and was back and forward to our table with anything we needed. In all it was a very successful day as I signed a new contract with a new client as well.More

We visited for lunch on Sunday and we were really impressed. The Steak Pie lived up to its reputation it was amazing. The burger was also great. We finished off with the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice-cream which was also amazing. The atmosphere was good and...all the staff were very efficient and customer focused. Will certainly be back if ever in that area. Summing up it was a great experience.More

I’ve just returned from what has been my worst dining experience in a long time. No vegan options included on menu. Offered either mushroom salad or pasta. Pasta dish had a strong resemblance to a vegetable risotto, was in fact orzo, not informed of this...when ordering and not a favourite past of ours. Ended up having a bowl of soup for my meal and my son had nothing. Very disappointing and spoiled a surprise birthday meal with my family.More

The last time we ate here was some time ago. We went with another couple who are local. The service was very good as was the food. I had the seafood platter which I enjoyed very much and considered it excellent value. My friend had...prawn salad which he could not finish. Our wives both had steak pie which they enjoyed. The portions were very generous and certainly not overpriced. All in all would visit again and recommend to others.More

Let's have high tea rather than a main meal was the suggestion. Good idea was the answer as we were all watching our weight. The Birkhill do afternoon tea so let's go there! The very tactful waitress reminded us that afternoon tea included cake etc,...so we decided to play safe and eat from the main menu - big mistake!!! I decided on Bruschetta for starters and Steak Pie for the main course. Bruschetta consisted of 2 pieces of crispy garlic bread with a lovely topping - tomatoes were particularly tasty. When the steak pie arrived I realised I had made a massive mistake. It was huge!!! Brilliant pastry top, crammed with chunks of steak, peas, carrots, chips and the most amazing gravy imaginable. Maybe we should have had high tea after all! Great surroundings, nice pleasant efficient staff which will see me making another mistake by going back again, but learning from my mistake it will be for a half portion next time.More

We ate in the Birkhill a couple of times when we were on holiday nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful, the place itself is very clean and the food is delicious! HUGE portions and not too expensive either. We wish we stayed closer! Will definitely...be back!More

Most restaurants are guide dog friendly, but without sounding rude. I would not like to eat in a restaurant with any pet in it due to allergies.
