Decided to try it out. Food was just ok, nothing special. Bread bit stale, mussels weren't fresh as some had shrivelled. What i did notice the most was that the cutlery, glasses and jug were not clean. Dont think i will be back in a hurry.

We booked in advance and made good use of our Tesco points (£10 points gives £40 to spend) Choice is good and food well cooked. Staff are keen to look after you. At the end of the meal you find that you have spent a considerable amount of money for an average meal.

On front street, I love this place. It looks the part and is staffed by perfectly right people. The food is exquisite. I like to taste new things whenever I visit and am NEVER disappointed. Well... not quite. Today I was told "<something> and they've run out of Parfait". All I heard was the bad news about the parfait. I... More

Last month we visited Cafe Rouge and the experience was fairly awful. I reviewed it negatively at the time and although I have deleted that review on the basis of this return visit, I have included it at the bottom of this new review, partly for completeness and partly to illustrate the improvement that has been made. After our bad... More

Arrived on a sunday evening about 7. The place was pretty empty, and we were shown to our seats straight away. A drinks order was taken, unfortunately the waitress had to come back to say that the beer we had ordered was out of stock, so my husband chose another. When the drinks arrived they had given him a completely... More

My tip would be to sign up with their website for access to really good discounts. Kids menu is really good value. Food fresh and tasty. Tried the mussels, steak and a cheese tart all really good. Nice salads. Fries a bit of a let down as they are the frozen variety.

We visited Cafe Rouge on Saturday 25th March; there were six in our party, two adults and four children (aged 11-15). Can't fault any of our meals, they were all delicious; especially the starter of FOUGASSE À L'AIL - everyone enjoyed it. We had booked our table for 2pm but ordering the food took ages and also getting it, it... More
