Great little pub by the dock area in Leith. Front bar is lively, with great big screen off to the left for football etc. Back room is cozy with a brazier throwing heat on a dismally damp and cold evening. Great place for a pint...or two.More

Great food—we had steak pie, scallops, calamari. Excellent selection at the bar. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
A group of 6 were shoehorned into a very busy pub, showing live football. By the time we'd taken a couple of drinks and placed our food order we were able to expand to a table on our own. The beer was good as was...the food, and all served by friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the stroll down from the Holiday Inn Express.More
Found this wee jewel in the crown while it scouting about, and what a discovery. Food is delicious, prices were amazing and staff were just as amazing and delightful. Great selection of whisky, gin and wine. Just as great was my cuppa, made with no...question when I asked. We visited several times and promised we would be back.More
Stopped by this great bar/restaurant for lunch. Super friendly staff…great beer selection and food. The Mac and cheese was awesome and so was the fish and chips. Great spot .
Being a local, I have always paid a wee visit or two due to the great selection of whiskies behind the bar, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.. however after being away for a bit due to life event, I decided to take a wee jaunt...around for dinner as I was quite fond of their food on many occasions...this time however, i had to leave my happiness at the door. The menu has't just shrunk in physical size, but also in content, I witnessed some really sad looking burgers being brought to the couple next to me, who were also less than impressed. I had ordered the fish n chips as this was always a bit of a favour after the steak pie which was weirdly now missing from the menu. Although the flesh of thr fish was firm and meaty.. the batter was very oily and the chips were extremely soggy and a few not fired correctly as they were still hard in the middle. As for the accompaniments.. a thimble full of garden peas doesn't cut it and looked frankly odd, next toa massive piece of fish. The quality of the food is now sadly not up to pat... whether its a change of supplier or chest, they really need to address it, and put pies and also stews BACK on the menuMore
This lovely pub is in Leith, which is an extension of Edinburgh. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The service is great and the food arrived within a short time. The portion sizes are very generous, so arrive hungry. Not much of a view...but well worth a visit for the food.More
We chose to finish our ride in the outdoor seating area of Teuchters with a couple of drinks. Firstly, but by no means a downer, our bikes don't fit in the racks. Seems if you've got a mud guard you can't lock up easily. That...aside, we had our bikes by our table that hopefully didn't cause too much obstruction. But that's not the reason I'm here; We weren't expecting to eat but decided the weather was so lovely we'd go for it and my god we're glad we did. The fish and chips were FANTASTIC, and I say this as a seasoned Blackpool girl who was suckling batter from an early age. Everything about it was perfect. Batter crispy and not wet at all - the fish, chunky and excellently cooked, and the chips were phenomenal. Chunky, looked double cooked and just so tasty. I would go again just for them. The calamari was also good but the chips, oh my. Well done Chef. Nailed it.More
Lovely evening outside drinking Innis&Gunn and having a great fish&chips. Great place by Water of Leith. Crowded on an early Thursday evening.
Lovely service, Hot dog was possible! Mussels were poor, unbearded, cracked shells and no cream in the sauce. Great for drinks but can't recommend for food.
This little place is very busy, no set table so find your own seat and then go the bar to order for food or drinks, you can also use your mobile with a QR code. We were going to sit outside as it was a...sunny day however, on second thoughts it was windy and thought it could get cold quickly. We sat near the windows like cats enjoying the warmth of the sun shining on us. We had drinks, we asked for cocktails but its not really that kind of bar. Good simple drinks and service, the staff were friendly and helpful they even put fruit in our drinks to make it look like a cocktail! Food wise, we opted for the seafood platter, we were only 2 and when it first arrived we thought… is that it? How wrong could we be, could not finish it all. The fish was fresh and tender, calamari perfectly cooked (not rubbery or dripping in oil) and the mussels tender and flavoursome. I loved the pate and the bread soaked up all the deliciousness perfectly. The platter contained: shetland blue shell mussels loch creran argyll oysters calamari seared shetland scallops grilled monkfish, salmon, red pepper skewer welch’s smoked salmon mackerel pate welch’s kiln smoked salmon aioli, crusty bread, oatcakes and a large mug of chips A place to return to, perhaps even try a Sunday breakfast.More
Some of the more recent reviews are right…. This place is really going the wrong way. The food is at best ok. The mussels are gritty and in a sour sauce., the chips were over cooked and the hot dog was flavourless. The location is...lovely and the bar staff are nice but certainly regret spending 65£ on lunch for two.More
We’ve been going there for quite a number of years, but unfortunately the staff and quality of food have gone downhill recently. Very sad will give other local businesses a try in the future
Fantastic little find whilst walking around. Atmosphere was great, we were thirsty and wanted a quick drink before carrying on with our walk. All in all very very pleasant. Staff were quick, friendly and helpful.
Food and customer service at Teuchters in Leith is going downhill. We used to visit a lot (local residents) but will give a miss in future. The bar used to have specials on the blackboard, which are long gone, but now the ‘mugs’ of kedgeree,...curry and so on have also disappeared from the evening menu (Teuchter’s staples!). Unhelpful woman at the bar (who definitely needs to work on her front-of-house skills) complained that there ‘just too many tables’ to serve(!) … And yet they can rustle up a £75.00 seafood platter [definitely not worth the money, btw readers]. I guess just another bar chasing the tourist dollar. So disappointing.More
