Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the start of our short holiday and by chance we came across this pub. The welcome we got from all staff was warm and friendly, and the food and drink menus were both full of great options. I had the chilli dog,...which was the best hot dog I’d ever had, and this was accompanied by chips that I’d describe as perfect! I took a half of heavy to wash it down and was not disappointed one bit. The rest of the family took on mac and cheese and kedgeree, which both went down well. If I get chance before leaving, I will be back!More

A fantastic bar with food. Informal but beautifully done. Hearty fare and fabulous seafood. My husband had the stew and I had the fish board. The wine selection was great and the beers included many local variations. The whisky selection was out of this world....What a great place.More

A really attractive pub with an excellent range of whiskies and beers, including Timothy Taylor's Landlord, which is why I went there in the first place. But my pint of Landlord wasn't Landlord at all (and I do know Landlord very well), but a different,...much paler ale which was very pleasant -- but it simply wasn't Landlord. Now anyone can make a mistake, so I gently pointed out the error to the barman who had served me, expecting him to at least take seriously my assertion. But he proceeded to argue with me, drawing a taste from the handpump and pronouncing it to be unequivocally Landlord. As the beer I did have was pleasant enough, I just sat down and drank it. But over the next 25 minutes there was much activity around the Landlord pump, with a clear change of barrel taking place. Before the next pint, I asked for a taste of the Landlord -- and lo and behold, it was indeed a fine Landlord. So I expected the staff to at least acknowledge that I hadn't been wrong and perhaps even to offer me a free pint to compensate. Instead, the bar staff became very defensive -- "what do you want me to do about it?" so I suggested an apology for their error and/or a free pint. There was no apology forthcoming, but, grudgingly, the price of the Landlord was deducted from my bill. I thought that was the end of the story but then my companions and I started receiving the vilest of dirty looks from the person who I presume was the bar manager over a sustained period. I really don't understand what they were thinking about. A quick acknowledgement that maybe I wasn't talking nonsense would have been all that was needed. As it was, an otherwise very pleasant experience was marred by this needlessly negative behaviour from behind the bar.More

This restaurant/pub has atmosphere in spades. Its just great fun. The food is wonderful Scottish faire. The array of beers wines and spirits verges on being bewildering. Service is warm and friendly, with a side order of humour. I cant wait to visit again.

Another excellent lunch at Teuchters. It always hits the spot. If you haven't been you should go. Now very accessible from centre of Edinburgh by the tram.

We had a late lunch here after a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia and our experience was first class! My husband had the cullen skink and I had a cheese board - both were delicious and served promptly by friendly staff who went out...of their way to ensure our comfort, suggesting a move to a larger and quieter table to eat. It is a cosy, quirky pub with a good selection of beer and wine and we will definitely be back!More

Great little pub by the dock area in Leith. Front bar is lively, with great big screen off to the left for football etc. Back room is cozy with a brazier throwing heat on a dismally damp and cold evening. Great place for a pint...or two.More

A group of 6 were shoehorned into a very busy pub, showing live football. By the time we'd taken a couple of drinks and placed our food order we were able to expand to a table on our own. The beer was good as was...the food, and all served by friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the stroll down from the Holiday Inn Express.More

Found this wee jewel in the crown while it scouting about, and what a discovery. Food is delicious, prices were amazing and staff were just as amazing and delightful. Great selection of whisky, gin and wine. Just as great was my cuppa, made with no...question when I asked. We visited several times and promised we would be back.More
