About
A multi-award winning restaurant in the centre of Edinburgh, Passage to India has been given the AAA Award of Excellence twice and achieved Outstanding Achievement mentions from the Good Eating Guide for four years. This is a restaurant where every single thing is imbued with a sense of quality and care, from the interior design to the service. Balanced between 70s style flock wallpapered palaces and ultra modern starkly conceived dining rooms, Passage to India has an unusually tongue in cheek style, the furnishings simple and unfussy but the art on the walls, depicting typical Indian scenes kitsch and colourful. This creativity follows through to the food, inspired by the flavours of the Punjab

Every city break we take has to take in an Indian meal. We were lucky that we found this place last year and we found our way back there again tonight Edinburgh is awash with Indian restaurants and everyone and his uncle has their favourite...and no two people will recommend the same one We took pot luck last year and for us it’s perfect Tonight’s meal was as good as we thought it would be. Perhaps better He always has a chicken tikka masala . I can never decide , I wanted a Patia tonight , not on the menu - not a problem Rice was superb , massive grains ( always a good sign ) poppadoms light as a feather and all the pickles very very different ( so many places they all taste the same ) Mains were truly good , so good we were toying with ordering another naan to wipe the dishes clean of gravy. And whilst the gravies were out of this world , the chicken still shone through. Add to the mix a wonderfully friendly and chatty waitress ( not in your face ) and it was just a lovely evening meal Will definitely return when back visiting the cityMore

Once upon a time, in the enchanting city of Edinburgh, nestled among the cobblestone streets and ancient castles, there stood a wondrous restaurant known as Passage to India. With its vibrant colors and tantalizing aromas, it beckoned weary travelers and hungry souls alike. As the...sun dipped below the horizon and the stars began to twinkle in the sky, Tom and George embarked on a culinary adventure to this magical place. Stepping through the doors, they were greeted by the soft strains of traditional Indian music, weaving a melody that seemed to dance through the air. Seated at their table, they found themselves enchanted by the menu, filled with exotic dishes and tantalizing flavors. Each bite was a journey to far-off lands, filled with spices and secrets passed down through generations. But as the night wore on and their bellies grew full, a strange sensation began to wash over them. The music seemed to lull them into a gentle slumber, as if the restaurant itself were whispering a bedtime story in their ears. Despite their drowsiness, Tom and George couldn't help but smile as they savored every last bite of their delicious meal. For in that moment, they knew they had discovered a hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh. As they bid farewell to Passage to India and stepped back out into the cool night air, they knew that their adventure was far from over. For they had found a place where dreams and flavors intertwined, promising to beckon them back again and again. And so, with full hearts and satisfied stomachs, they vowed to return to this magical restaurant under the stars.More
