Ordered the surf and turf with 8oz sirloin and the fish of the day. Everything was delicious. So glad we asked for recommendations at The Black Cat pub down the street. Will definitely return!

Fantastic spot on Rose Street, food is really good, a nice step up from pub food. Outside area is perfect. Steak was great, as was lobster special. Staff was really friendly.

Amazing steaks! as well as all the other dishes we ordered. Good selection of traditional Scottish dishes. Very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Impressive service! The waiters take such pride in the quality of food and presentation and we thought they were the owners.

A good place to go for wholesome well cooked food. Not a very big dining area, tables close together.

Several at our table fell for the Angus beef which was cooked as ordered, no problems there. Another ordered the fish pie and loved it. The wine list lets the restaurant down, like other places in Edinburgh the need to cover all regions from Argentina...More

Well, we had luck. We just went there, when they opened for dinnertime. Otherwise it seems a popular restaurant, so you may need reservation. We asked for seafood. It was very fresh, perfectly served, nothing to complain. But it was tasteless. But I can imagine,...More

What an amazing meal , a small restaurant but home cooked feel , steak was like butter , mussels were excellent and even requests to alter dishes were not a problem , definitely recommend and return on our next visit

New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to

with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest

helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned
Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric
