Lovely and very cozy place. I had the prawns as the starter which wasn't that good, I'm afraid - 3 prawns that were tough and overcooked for £12 seemed quite overprized, and that's why it's only 4 stars and not 5. The steak however was...really good and cooked perfectly for my taste, and the garlic/parsley butter was really good. Though some kind of dipping was missing for the fries beside from the butter.More

Lovely little Steakhouse. It was fully booked but the staff let me in for a quick meal…. And it was worth it. I had the King Prawns to start and a Ribeye steak for main with peppercorn sauce and it was cooked medium rare to...perfection. The side of chunky chips filled me right up. Well worth the price. I will definitely be recommending this all of my friends and family.More

A beautiful little restaurant, family-run, cosy and friendly, with loads of locally sourced produce. Great service, with good food and drink recommendations from staff. We had a wonderful evening, would highly recommend the west coast mussels & king prawns!

Lovely ambience to this restaurant. I had gone last year and I think it was a set menu and it was really nice. However this time we had booked and it was only the A la carte menu. Service was ok the restaurant was nearly...full. Steaks arrived and I had mashed potatoes and hubby had thick cut chips. Very small cold salad with slice of tomato and dressing so we ordered garlic mushrooms. We realised immediately that the plates were quite cold. My steak was lukewarm and I ate it. My husband’s steak was cold. He had to tell the waitress. I had almost finished when they brought what looked like a different smaller steak for him. It wasn’t cooked the way he asked but he was hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer. We ordered puddings and they said they would not charge for them and gave him a beer on the house. Our bill for bottle of wine, a beer and the two dinners without paying for the puddings was over £101. Definitely NOT worth it. Small plate of food with little sides. The mushrooms we ordered were not garlic mushrooms and they too were old. Lovely cosy restaurant but they really do have to up their game with the food. I will not be back unless I hear it has improved. Definitely not value for the money.More

Came here for our last day in Edinburgh and turned out it was the best place. The food was just glorious and the staff was very kind and attentive all the time. Very cozy place that reminds you of a little house on the countryside....Will definitely come back and will recommend it to anyone that comes to Edinburgh.More

We liked the look of this place and as the reviews were good we booked a table. On entering the ambience was good and there was a warm greeting. The wine list is poor and surprisingly there was no Merlot on offer! However, the Malbec...was good but pricey! I chose the scallops for a starter and was quite pleased with them. My wife had Cullen Skink and was disappointed that it was very thick and not soup-like at all. She is Scottish and knows exactly how it should be. So, for mains we both had steak, my wife ordered Fillet and I asked for Sirloin. When it turned up we were both served sirloin! We decided not to mention it as we had waited quite a time for it. We ordered 3 sides, chips, onion rings and mushrooms. The chips turned up, for some reason, on my wife's plate! The meal was ok but I've had better in a Harvester! It really was on the level of good pub grub. On a plus the dessert was good but the whiskey ice cream didn't taste a lot like whiskey! Nevertheless, it was nice. The bill was £150 and for that, I would have expected so much more. I wouldn't go back for a meal at that price when there are so many decent alternatives in the area.More

Very disappointed. The fixed price lunch menu was lovely and having had time to peruse and make our choices we were then told that one of the dishes was “off”. Changes made and four people choosing the same dish, we were then told there were...only two portions available…this an hour and a half after opening???? Surely all these things should have been discussed at the time of offering the menu? Also the temperature of the food was at best Luke warm. Won’t be back.More

Not as good as previous visits, fish chowder was thin with very little fish for the price point, haggis was under seasoned. Steaks as always were delicious and perfectly cooked, the expensive add on sides were very uninspiring and small portions The only included side...of tomato salad had one slice of tomato in it, just one! Service was good, however I think we definitely caught them on an off night food wise, overpriced for the meal we hadMore

We stayed at the Premier Inn on Prince Street and this restaurant was just around the corner and down to the street behind us, Rose Street. So very easy to get to if you're staying down in New Town. Lovely small room. Smoked salmon appetizer...superb. We primarily were looking for seafood so mussels, prawns and the like were our goal and they were delicious. Split a couple of sticky toffee puddings among 4 diners for dessert and after subsequent comparisons across Scotland, we feel like there's was the best!More

Had a lovely meal at Wildfire two weeks ago. The service was exceptional, honestly the best service I have experienced at any other restaurant. The team went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The menu had many great options but I...settled for the mussels which were delicious. All in all we thought it was good value for money and we plan to go back soon!More

One of the most enjoyable dining experiences of the year for us. The serving staff “Klaudia & Iona” were so professional and friendly, the ambience was welcoming and warm, and the food was healthy and delicious 😋

The best i have ever had here in Wildfire. Both of us ordered rib eye medium rare to cook and it was perfectly done. Atmosphere inside the dining area was quiet nice and clam. Serving was outstanding. We walked past this restaurant many times but...this is the first time we managed to dine in and it will not be the last. We will definitely be back.More

Genuinely the WORST experience of my lifetime. I came here for their steaks after seeing these amazing reviews. When I went in they told me that they weren't sure what tables were available? When it is part of their jobs. After that fuss I get...sat at my table with my friends and they have water glasses but no water so after I ask for water I get nothing but attitude as she rolled her eyes. When taking my order she was very blunt and quite honestly rude as she laughed at how many sides we ordered. When our food came out it was tiny portions. I paid £5 for fries and there was not even ten on the dish. Not to mention we could hear the kitchen staff swearing and they were extremely rude to the waitresses, maybe that is why she was so rude. Then the toilets are disgusting so there's another downfall. I also didn't see any alcohol license on display which is a bit dodgy. Overall it was 0/10 and I will not be returningMore

We enjoyed some lovely Scottish steak and seafood here. The service was attentive and it was good value. We were pleased to get a table as we booked fairly last minute.
