The place was lovely, just by Princes street. Amazing decor. I ordered Angus steak pie. It was delicious. The service wasn't good. The guys working in the pub are mostly rude. A pity, because I really would go back if it wasn't the service.

On entering my reaction was "Wow!" on seeing the Victorian decor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the choice and qualityof beers was excellent. The ceilings are very high and quite ornate. Well worth a visit.

This is a very busy pub just off Princes Street but it has a very nice, small , dining room upstairs. The menu was excellent as was the quality of the food. The waitress was a joy- very helpful and friendly.

The very best burger I've had in ages. Traditional style and decor but certainly worth a visit and I would certainly go again.

I was in Edinburg with my daughter. We stayed at a hotel directly across the street from the Guildford Arms. It was recommended from someone at the hotel. The dining room is upstairs from the pub. It was busy but we were able to get...More

I visited because it's just a few feet away from the budget hotel we were staying in which doesn't offer a dinner service. We were pleasantly surprised by this find.. it's got such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere - you can feel the history in the...More

The Guildford Arms is tucked away around the corner from the East End of Princes Street and is one of those old fashioned pubs that hark back to an era that time forgot with ornate decorated windows, chandeliers with all bulbs working, floor to ceiling...More

New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district
with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest
clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street
helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned
Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric
