Loved it here, staff where very attentive and helpful, giving good and informed advice on which dished would suit our tastes. My wife and I visited The Khukuri restaurant on Monday, 13th February 2017. The restaurant was clean, bright, warm and inviting. The staff very pleasant and responsive. We shared mixed kebab and vegetable starters which were very nicely presented and very tasty. For the main course my wife had a chicken tikka biryana and I had the special biryana, in... More

This was a last minute booking as Edinburgh was very busy. Seated 10 easily and we were well looked after. The food was very good. Staff very helpful in suggesting tasty dishes. Service was a little slow but nothing to complain about as we had time to chat. The food when it arrived was exceptional and really pleased, perfect amount... More

They had tasty food and it was a cozy setting. Momos were a favorite and we were glad to see many vegetarian options available. The waiter was friendly.

I looked at the reviews for this place and they were so good that I had to see what everyone was so excited about and this restaurant, unlike others, merited the rated it has. The dishes were well cooked, good flavours and we're very reasonably priced. I had a Nepalese lamb dish and thought it was lovely, as well as... More

I signed up to this website, just to review this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was efficient, quick and most importantly, personal. Can't recommend the chicken piroo piroo enough.

This little restaurant is situated a few minutes walk from Haymarket station. The food is absolutely wonderful! I lived in the UK for over a year and this is a tie for the best Indian (/Nepalese) restaurant I've found. I tried the rogan josh, bindi, lamb tikka, and garlic-chili-coriander naan, they were all top-notch. I've had a lot of Indian... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
