What a shame of a place and what a ridiculous way of manage a restaurant.
We went for dinner last friday 14th with my wife and service was disappointing. Food was ok but overpriced. And here is my feedback below.
We’ve been asked to leave...without letting us finish half bottle of wine, saying that they we’re closing at 11 and everyone must leave.
The “Manager”, who was rude and unprofessional approached us saying… is 11 o clock, you have to leave. Which I asked why, if we still have 2 full glasses of wine, and you haven’t give any previous notice?
He answered, yes!! already gave you the bill and you pay, now you have to leave.
As a General Manager of a big restaurant in Edinburgh I asked him if he was aware of his license and his operating plan? Because you have to give your costumers the last call for last drinks orders and after that, you have 30 minutes for a drink up time with a meal.
He replied in a very cocky and insecure way, our licence is until 10:45pm, you already had 15 minutes, no you have to leave, I’m sorry, you have to leave now.
And he stood in front of us, staring at us and repeating, you have to leave now.
At this point I was laughing, I am not a person who would argue, but yes we felt really mistreated, disrespected, and ruined our evening vibes.
I will never come back and I will never recommend this place for a relaxed, nice, welcoming experience for anyone, careful tourist or local people, you could really invest that money somewhere else.
The worst £90 spent ever for a dinner… tapas….
General feedback below:
Water glasses dirty, smelling chemical from the washing machine.
Waitress wiping crumbs from the table straight to the floor, throwing crumbs all over the place, chairs and on top of us, ridiculous.
Atmosphere, was really nice when the guitarist was playing live, but after he finished at 9:30pm, they changed to pop music from a playlist. I would recommend to play Spanish music, having so many good artists, so I can feel i am transported to Spain when I am there. Disappointing.
Tapas: Were small and overpriced, but they were good, really good morcilla. Iberico pork cheeks, I wouldn’t serve them on top of a pastry tart. Octopus, expensive and bland, needs seasoning. Artichokes were nice. Aubergine was too thin.
Dessert: This was really embarrassing. San Sebastian cheesecake itself was nice and light, but it comes with “Homemade Dulce de Leche”… I am from Argentina and let me tell you, you get better condensed milk from a can than that thing. Urgently needs fixing is a nonsense.
Hopefully the owner could look after this things better.More
