The title says it all. Good meat, good value for the money, a superb experience on a fast grab and go restaurant. Simplicity at its best: grab a roasted pork sandwich and proceed on your journey through old Edinburgh while tasting a nutritious and delicious meal! Top marks!

We saw the whole cooked pig in the window as we walked down The Royal Mile towards Holyrood Palace and instantly our appetites were whetted. It was not long before we came back up the hill and went in. For a very reasonable price we had a delicious pulled pork roll rammed full with meat plus a topping and sauce... More

A delightfully simple concept - pulled pork sandwiches from a whole cooked pig. The pork is fantastic on its own, but they have several sauces and stuffings to pick from.

Read about Oink's two locations in Edinburgh and went both trips into town. The pulled pork was delicious and hearty. No skimping on the meat! Fresh, moist and reasonable. Nice place to pop in should you want to eat quickly in order to see visitor attractions. Each of us got a different meat sandwich, which comes in three sizes. We... More

This food was incredibly tasty. Roast pork roll with haggis and bbq sauce. That might sound ridiculous but don't knock it until you try it. We Loved this cafe.

It's a tiny little restaurant with a pig in the front window but boy oh boy, they make a killer sandwich filled with so much flavour. We came across the restaurant as we were staying in the area and we've recommended it to all our friends and family staying in Edinburgh since. The pork is delicious (especially with the apple... Found this on our first visit and we now go back every time we are in Edinburgh! Everything is delicious, the crackling deserves a special mention - normally free if you ask for it. Feeling like a big pig? You won't eat for the rest of the day!! ;)

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
