I love this wee authentic Italian cafe, great for grabbing a bite to eat and coffee and watching the world go by. Nice coffees, fantastic bakery food and the meals are tasty and proper homemade with fresh incredients.

Looking for a place to come with my mum, wife, and 1 year old in Edinburgh was proving difficult on a Saturday but this place was great for my Scottish wife to feel comfortable to breast feed. When you want decent British baked goods and...More

This used to be the best Italian restaurant cafe in Edinburgh. The refurbishment has freshened the place up, but too many tables, poor service and average menu. No Italian is spoken, an incoherent menu, average quality food, limited cake selection, bland atmosphere. I have been...More

Popped in for lunch before going to the museum and was not disappointed. The Bolognese was delicious and full of flavor. The service was also great. Their were lovely looking cakes on display but unfortunately we were both to full to try these. Will visit...More

We had a family day out in Edinburgh to the National Museum and this restaurant was recommended to us, as great for families. We had two toddlers with us. The sign outside of the cafe signalling that they are looking for staff should have been...More

Condescending male staff member who spoke down to me, so don't what ever you do point out that their Earl Grey tea does not taste of bergamot. I had a metallic tasting cup of warm fluid served to me. Definitely will not be back.

We went here for a quick lunch/snack last Sunday. The service here was abysmal. There was nice enough bloke behind the bar, but 'service' from the waitress was v poor - no eye contact at all and no words. She was, however, capable of speech;...More

We stopped her for a quick lunch when visiting Edinburgh, there was very little to choose from. There wasn't much filling in the sandwiches and a small salad, I expected something more for the price. It's very small inside and the tables are squashed together....More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Lucano and Ross, in the heart of Edinburgh's Old town, is a traditional Italian Café-bistro ideal for families, couples and small groups. The venue takes inspiration from all that's great about the typical Italian culture and cuisine with a Scottish twist. Our classically trained Italian chefs prepare fresh pasta, pizza, breads and cakes everyday.
